No. It’s not real. It can’t be. I have no numbers but I would bet that less than half of D1 players will get paid and only a small percentage of those who do will get life changing money. As one who helps pay those bills with ticket purchases and tv subscriptions, I want to see those numbers.

It might be real. I think you are right that less than half of D1 players will get paid, but I think that on the top 50-60 teams, including us, the whole roster is going to get paid something and kids in the top 8 or 9 will be getting 6 figures. There are 365 D1 teams, the bottom half won't be paying much if anything. The U ifs likely going to have 4-5 million to spread around...

What is your minimum amount to classify a payment as "life changing?"

If that's the base line, then I think you'd be shocked.

Almost every P4 impact player (starter and bench) will be at or near six-figures.

Heck, there were multiple Gophers at or near six-figures last season.
 





Some say 2,000 guys in the portal? a lot whatever the number. 350 ish DI teams....seems only 5 to maybe 10 guys commits in a day and 25 more get in the portal. Slow moving for most every team.
