2025 Transfer Portal Watch

The guy I would want back, who still has eligibility, is Payne.
I am about to sound insane and like an idiot. Payne is a great player and can be a top player on a really good team. But, I don't know how well he fits in Niko's system. Princeton offense which means you want 5 on the floor who can dribble, shoot, and pass. Payne is a good player but does not seem like the best fit for that kind of offense.

Maybe. Memba was not a real good shooter- shot 10 3's all year....but what you say is true about Niko's teams- skilled players. Payne was much improved this year but still has no shooting range. What he can do now is post up at the FT line and drive it very effectively. He's also not a bad passer.

I realize this is a completely nonsensical reason to have this opinion but I really don't need any further reminders of the Ben Johnson era (Thorson/Payne/others). I want to completely start over.

I thought this number was low.

Yes, because I think there was a delay for most players to enter this season so there was a flood on the first day of the official opening.

I don't know with much degree of confidence how the numbers will compare to last year. On the one hand, you don't have the optional 5th year for most players but, on the other hand, you have all of those players who started at a JUCO who now appear to be able to not count at least one of those years.

Demarion Watson if I were the Gophers or UST … I would look into this kid he was wasting away at Iowa St… a great role player could take over the Parker Fox roll.. when he played meaningful minutes the kid rebounded, blocked shots dunked… plays hard plays a little bigger than he is but also can guard on the perimeter… made no sense why he didn’t play.. he will help you win.. Totino kid

Why don’t we start posting about what players are not in the portal? Less work.

Honestly it might be easier to just track who is staying at their current school. I mean I guess you can't fault players for seeing what they can get from unrestricted free agency but it is pretty ridiculous the way players have no loyalty of any kind towards the school they are currently at. Such a shame that has been stripped out of the college game in large part.

Makes you appreciate a guy like Asuma (assuming he stays of course). Players wanting to stick around is getting rarer and rarer these days.
