2025 Transfer Portal Watch

......... five minutes after I texted this, the Frank Mitchell news broke. Well done.
How Minnesota of you / him. Damn. Really hoping he would come back. He still could, but nobody knows anything but him

In the recent Talk Gopher Buckets podcast Ryan James says that Asuma will be key to retain of course, but that players love playing with him. And that in his AAU program DI were a number of players that he would practice with that he may be helpful in luring to Minnesota. He threw out names like Eaglestaff and Brown, who are both on the first page of this thread. Clearly we need a coach, NIL, revenue sharing, etc as well, but it'll be interesting to see if Isaac Asuma stays and can be a recruiter in the portal.

A trio of Asuma, Brown and Eaglestaff would be NICE.

Can he recruit, oh, another 9 players?

MN Coach: Fired
DePaul Coach: Fired
UNLV Coach: Fired
Next Stop....who isn't superstitious??

To be fair to Henley, Ben wasn't fired until two years after Henley left so we can't consider him a possible proximate cause for that one. But, yeah, Henley might be the leading jinx among college players.

Wow, doesn't even look like the guy that was at Minnesota. HGH?!
Came to us straight out of high school. Has had multiple years of eating right and working out since then to go along with natural maturity from 17-18 to 20+. Not really surprising that he looks quite a bit different

The guy went from Corey Brewer to Nene

So ridiculous!!!

1 free transfer, the 2nd you sit the first half of the year, the 3rd you sit an entire year.
He transferred in HS too if I remember correctly. A kid that’s never happy, and coaches never happy with attitude either. Sad. If it wasn’t so easy to transfer might grow up a little.

This is so true. I know nothing about Henley- it is tough to have your coach fired. What I do know is that there is very little about what has been done to college basketball that is actually good for the young men.

I have no problem with players earning some compensation but the whole basketball process from AAU through college is just yuck. Many of these kids have the opportunity to receive life changing money but unfortunately I think most of it is being siphoned away by sleazy agents, handlers, and sometimes parents.
