2025 Transfer Portal Watch

looks like Wes has also been in contact with Ohio State, Michigan, Geogia, SMU, Butler among others

My morning so far regarding the Enis news:

Initial reaction: "Are you shitting me? We can't do any better than frickin' D2 guys??? Just shut it down!"

After reading MI/OSU are interested: "This guy is a MUST get. Get it done, Nacho!!!"

Strange times when a 4th year player is one of the "younger players on the team". I was also upset that the coach was playing Mitchell hurt, that was dumb. Out of position? Glad he made it clear he took less money to come here though, that was awfully nice of him.

Yes. Don't think I would be too excited about getting the nsic MVP. Means something if the deep pockets are interested.

Yeah. The new reality. If Asuma breaks out next season we will all be speculating that he will be leaving us for "greener" pastures. Can't blame kids at all for chasing the money.

Unless his name is Parker Fox (yes, I know he wasn't MVP, but he was first team all conference and defensive MVP)

Yes. I probly am posting here out of ignorance as didn't watch the gophs or Fox. Wouldnt we be disappointed if Enis had the same impact as Fox?

Yes but Fox suffered 2 ACL tears after arriving here and his game was based on his athleticism and explosiveness.

Enis's game is based on shooting, which translates to all levels.

If he doesn't have 2 ACL injuries in back to back seasons and has the same impact, yes. I don't think the Parker Fox we saw was the Parker Fox that transferred here from Northern St. though.

People tend to forget that the minute Fox stepped on campus he tore an ACL. Then the next year he decided to tear the other one. I got a funny feeling he would have had a better on court career here if that didn’t happen.

So yes, if Enis commits and has the same impact without injuries.. the gophers need to just quit at basketball. I don’t see it happening tho.

Considering how explosive he still was coming off two major knee injuries it would have been a lot of fun to have gotten pre-injuries Parker on the team. Was really excited about him when he committed to come here and glad we at least got a few years out of him even if that time was delayed.

Think of the contrast to someone like Eric Curry who was just a shell of the player he looked like was going to be after all the injuries he suffered. Parker still had a lot left in the tank, even at the age of 50 and coming off of his injuries. :)

Does anyone find being a fan fun anymore?

I really don't.

Feels like I'm sitting in HR/comp meetings.
Being a fan is still fun but it is very different now than just a few years ago. Tough to get invested in any particular players (especially in basketball) since you have no clue if they are going to be around. Also tough to project a team out beyond the current year because there is so much uncertainty year to year.

The amount of time spent discussing money though sucks....and all this roster turmoil is not good for fans or teams.

Oddly, I feel optimistic.

I see players fleeing superior programs, I see HOF coaches struggling to keep up with the times, and I think, "damn, we are all in the same boat now."

For most of my life, we've sat at the kiddie table. This is the era to change that.

As bad as we've been for the past four years, this mass player movement is positive, as far as I'm concerned. We have nothing to lose and lots of opportunities to build.

I'm honestly getting a kick out of the fanbases who haven't dealt with an iota of adversity over the past few decades and are now losing their **** because, "COLlege bAsketbALL is RUINed," and "WHERE IZ playER LOYalTY!?!?"

Gopher fans, we are sharpened, grizzled veterans in the arena of adversity. Many of the historically rich programs are not.

With time, NIL will be a net positive for our program because I don't think we could have fallen much lower if college athletics continued to operate under the status quo of amateurism.

With a do not contact......means he knows where he is going

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Interesting on the DNC. Could mean I'm checking my value with schools/coaches I have interest in and if they can't beat Purdue he stays.

Lots of players are being fired, parting ways, or not meeting their value.
