2025 Transfer Portal Watch

People last week: "Niko seems to have a great system and is excellent at finding the right players to fill the roles"

People this week: "GRAB EVERY TRANSFER"
Much the same way everyone latched onto Jayden Moore's comment that Ben Johnson didn't talk to him enough. Maybe that was intentional? We went after Asuma and passed on Freitag.

Maybe we're going hard after Eaglestaff and passing on Brown. Not every player fits a system or has a personality that is going to mesh with a team, especially in basketball where a roster is small.

And we should not feel sorry for the coaches that lose players!!!!

Look at how many coaches left their players.
Over 90% of D1 coaches lose players each year. If you take into consideration graduating/out of eligibility it’s closer to 100%

Why is the Dinkytown Athletes the sole NIL collective for Minnesota? Should there be a 2nd or even a third collective for Minnesota? Who is to say there cannot be more than one collective? I see future lawsuits coming.

What would prevent Proctor and Gamble or Medtronic from forming their own NIL collective?

Lawsuits? Please explain.

At the beginning of NIL there were at least two active NIL groups, with a rumor another was forming, to support Gopher athletics. After the U chose Dinkytown Athletes (DTA) as their official NIL group, I haven’t heard anything about the other(s).

It’s understandable to be concerned about the finances of any NIL organization, and I would think Gopher Athletics would have both vetted and formalized an agreement with DTA to protect the athletes and the University. Maybe someone here can shed some light on it.

Stadium Village Athletes and Seven Corners Athletes?

Too bad. They have enough cash to fill a roster of money chasing players. Maybe not guys who can win but at least they’ll have a team.
Even to us (prior to Medved) that's a low bar
