Have the southern Minnesota schools play at the Rochester Regional Stadium and make a weekend out of it.
Mankato’s MSU may be a site when they make their upgradeHave the southern Minnesota schools play at the Rochester Regional Stadium and make a weekend out of it.
Probably not the best but it was first I saw. The 57,000 didn’t make sense but it was draw area, so I thought it was possible.Curius where you got the numbers on Fergus Falls? I can only find that it has around 8.5% from 2010 to 2025. 2020 census shows 14,119.
Either that or Owatonna. Owatonna has the nicest facility in south central Minnesota that I've seen. Not sure of the capacity number but I'm sure it would be big enough.Mankato’s MSU may be a site when they make their upgrade
Lights are necessary due to Saturday games being limited with officials working college games as well. Colleges also obviously play Saturday. Gustavus has been expensive to rent. Southwest State is less expensive but less than ideal geographically.Gustavus has held state playoff games over the years. It's an easy place to host a big football crowd and it has decent levels of seating on both sides of the field. It also has a long history of hosting all kinds of HS playoff action in other sports ranging from basketball and hockey to track/field. The only limitation is the new stadium there does not have lights. The old grass stadium did have lights but the fancy new stadium does not.
St. Olaf has turf but they also don't have lights. Day games are great however this time of year.Gustavus has held state playoff games over the years. It's plenty big. Might just not want to do it though.Either that or Owatonna. Owatonna has the nicest facility in south central Minnesota that I've seen. Not sure of the capacity number but I'm sure it would be big enough.
Come back in another year as their talent are all Juniors.Possibly the 819th article this year on Moorhead in the Star Tribune today. I would love to hear about some of the other teams just once!
Something I find interesting about Maple Grove - I'd have to look at where they were in all their games, but know for sure that against EP, Edina & Minnetonka, they were either tied or trailing at halftime. They ended up winning all 3 by at least 2 TD's or more.....Now that I no longer have a dog in the fight I will be interested to see if anyone can stop the Maple Grove/Minnetonka matchup from happening. Seems like the EP/Edina winner might be able to keep Tonka out but I don't see Maple Grove being stopped by either South or the Moorhead/Centennial winner.
Edina's schedule this year is pretty crazy. Started with Hopkins and Wayzata but final 6 games of the regular season were all against teams in the final 8.
Eden Prairie - L
Maple Grove - L
STMA - W
Lakeville South - W
Minnetonka - W
Moorehead - L
STMA also had a lead on Maple Grove in the 4th.Something I find interesting about Maple Grove - I'd have to look at where they were in all their games, but know for sure that against EP, Edina & Minnetonka, they were either tied or trailing. Seems like a team that knows how to put teams to bed. I still think they're the most balanced of all 6A teams in that they don't have a glaring weakness that stands out.

I believe it’s available on NSPN but have to purchase access. Usually is worth it as it has been like $10 in the past and think you get it for the month so can view all of playoffs. Is there any way to watch tonight’s games online?

Another sneaky way to find the section games are sometimes I have found teams will have it on hudl. Usually someone will post it on the teams facebook page. Only have seen that for regular season and section games though.
Otter Tail County (Fergus is seat) has a population of about 60k. But it is a large (area) county and has 22 school districts serving students within its borders according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otter_Tail_County,_Minnesota#EducationProbably not the best but it was first I saw. Going to be an all Metro West final four!I don’t think Moorhead has punted through 3 playoff games. 35-21 over Centennial. Stopped Centennial on opening drive and that was all they needed to flip the game.
Looking at their games it definitely looks like they have very little trouble putting up points. Although it also appears they have some trouble stopping teams as well. Lot of high scoring games.I don’t think Moorhead has punted through 3 playoff games. 35-21 over Centennial. Stopped Centennial on opening drive and that was all they needed to flip the game.
