2025 Bowl Projection Tracker

You quoted one of my posts with a non sequitur and have since been desperately trying to claim you didn't.

I never once said that a bowl game was more important than a conference game, whether in Dublin or not. You brought that up out of nowhere as if the game in Dublin precludes either ISU/KSU from playing in a bowl. Again....it doesn't. It has little to no bearing on why they decided to turn down a bowl invitation.
It was not a non-sequitur. Nor was it an attempt to argue or discredit your comments.

Kansas St & Iowa St played each other in Dublin as a unique experience, are currently going through coaching changes and both opted out of Bowl invitations. I never meant to intimate that the Dublin game influenced the decision or precluded participation.

My point was, if there was ever a year in which the lack of Bowl participation could be softened, it's this season. Players and several thousand fans got a once in a lifetime experience. I just happened to see hundreds and hundreds of Cyclone fans at the MSP Airport as they were heading from Iowa to Dublin.

Perhaps some fans' vacation and financial resources were already allocated towards going across the pond for game in which the date/time was set far in advance as opposed to the nebulous schedule for a Bowl. That could temper the blow for sitting out this Bowl season.

Sure some fans missed out on that and perhaps were planning on going to a Bowl, even though Date/Time/Location/Opponent are not known until just a few weeks in advance.

Others that were going to do both, at least have the Ireland experience to look back on. Same for the players.

For any Kansas St & Iowa St fans that had their heart set on a trip to see their teams play in Arizona this month, there is a silver lining of sorts. They both have road trips scheduled in 2026 to Tempe & Tuscon respectively for Big 12 games.
