2024-25 Gopher Hockey Season

That was one of the worst officiated college hockey games I have ever seen.
Also, what was up with playing hero hockey in the OT? That was horrible game management in OT.

Great effort by the Gophers tonight. 1 point is disappointing but I can’t complain about what I saw.

Great game to attend—both teams played to their strengths before a packed house. Scoring a second goal in the first five minutes would have won the game but Augustine made huge saves. Time for the Big Ten to end games which result in a tie after playing overtime. Each team receives their point. The third point is not awarded.

That was a very entertaining hockey game...two (2) really good teams. Grab both points tomorrow and I'll feel more than satisfied.

6-1-2 with tomorrow to go.

If they get two or more points tomorrow I'd grade the first half an A+. Otherwise an A, unless they lose by 6 or more tomorrow.
I'm with you. Will be really an interesting game to watch tonight. I can see this one unfolding in a few very different ways.

I mean it’s an A+ regardless to me. Seasons aren’t won by first half’s but this is about as good as anyone could’ve hoped for by record in hockey where weird things can lose you games. Little worried about the legs but the grit of this team is much higher than we’ve had in years. Thought games would be 4-3 and 3-2 with one OT game. Thinking we go more defensive tonight and may get outshot but try limit their grade As and win that way.

So in Big Ten play, the shootout winner got a second point? What happens in non conference games?

What would’ve happened if a team had won in OT? They’d get 3 points?

The BTN broadcast kind of stunk- the announcers didn’t explain anything and particularly in the 2nd period with all the penalties, they seemed to give up on displaying a graphic saying who was on the PP or if it was 4-4 or 4-3. It got really confusing.

Loved the Gophers grit last night even being short a number of skaters

There are 3 total points in a big ten game.
3 for reg win
2 for ot or so win
1 for ot or so loss

Out of conference shoot outs mean nothing

Pwr views the game last night as a tie which at the end of the year is all that matters. We have enough of the other banners

One other takeaway is Augustine is good enough to lead them to a title singlehandedly in four one and done games.
I thought the same thing.

I have no complaints. Biggest thing I saw is Michigan State is night & day a different team than 2-3-4 years ago. Seemed they were such a big plodding bunch of clydesdales that kind of just tromped around the ice. Not this club. I do think their defense isn't lights out shutdown though. However, Augustine is there to shut the door on any errors.

Gophers have a squad this year.

Hold on here in the 3rd to take the weekend. Let’s get it done

Hopefully the chance to get an A+ grade from bonin is enough to motivate the boys for 20 more minutes.

Wow. Just wow. Can anyone simply clear the puck from the zone?! 3-3.
