2024-25 Gopher Hockey Season

BC losing to Providence 2-1 after 2. Guess they are getting exposed again.

Yikes

BC wins
BC was without Fowler
Providence was 7-2-2 going into the game while the none of the Gopher opponents so far are even close to that

When gophers win 3 on 3 I'm told it doesn't count though.
BC is good, really good. But they are human. They lost to Uconn who is not even a .500 team.

BC looks very good. Backup was solid (and has been in past when he plays). They aren’t quite as dominant as they were last year watching them play. PU reminded me a lot of the Quinny teams and took it to bc at times, just couldn’t score when they needed to and gave up a really bad late rush goal

They will be as dominant by the end of the year when Hagens is fully up to speed. Of course they'll lose games but they're just at another level, maybe even over DU but DU knows how to beat them when it counts.

In top 15 of points per game for players with more than 2GP:
BC has 3 of the top 15
DU has 3 of the top 15

Those two lines will continue to absolutely work college hockey.

If you go by players who have played 9 games or more, the Gophers have 3 players in the top 15 in Points per game as well.... But that would have to give the Gophers some credit.
I prefer a sample size of 2 games, much more predictive.

My only analysis tonight is fuck this bunch of goons from Notre Dame. Garbage team that plays a garbage brand of hockey.

Snuggy with a 5 point (2g, 3a) weekend
Rinzel another 3 points
Moore scores twice

A lot of good guys to get rolling again. 5 guys averaging over a point/game. Defensemen add another 3 goals on the weekend and 10 points

BC loses to northeastern. Denver going to need a comeback to avoid being swept at home by ASU

Everyone but us getting exposed
Bonin is a very knowledgeable and passionate gopher hockey fan and I love that. But his post last week that we were “exposed” after a road game loss where we played well and ran into a hot goalie is an example of his knee jerk irrational takes that he espouses on the regular. His takes Monday thru Thursday are typically sound. Although i definitely disagree with him that BC and DU are on another level than us. It’s November, we don’t know much yet. But his glass half empty outlook doesn’t allow him to believe we’re right there with those teams.

It's definitely a double standard. Every time we lose, it is a sign of everything that is wrong with us. When one of the teams Bonin thinks is really good, it's just one of those things that happens in hockey even to good teams.

It's like hearing ESPN talking heads discuss losses by top SEC teams.

Sorry guys busy weekend. Don't love giving up the first goals all the time, and now the goalie battle gets very interesting... But they are getting the job done.

By the way Pau Hana is Savage, damn good food. Watched the end of the game before heading in for a great dinner.

Rinzel is amazing and we should enjoy it now cuz I think he'll leave with Snuggerud after hopefully a long playoff run.
