2020 College Transfer Portal

A couple of Gophers are on it. That may open up a spot for him...

As far as JDS goes ... I’m curious, are you *required* to enter the portal to transfer anywhere? Or is it just a tool that players can use, to put themselves out there, if they want?

Is it true that Rick Spielman on that photo caption told Scott Frost he is bringing JD home, or is that pure speculation?

I think it was more a joke, with potential of being a conversation hinting at that idea

Gophers have two Offensive Linemen on the list. Most likely because they will never see the field.

Some good defensive players out there, hopefully some of them see what we've done and decide to Row the Boat.

For all the Speilman talk, I'd rather see Justin Shorter from PSU decide to come be a Gopher. 6'4" 200lbs with a .99 HS rating! Maybe he would like to get 1,000 yards!

And my personal favorite hopeful transfer, Fa'Avae Fa'Avae, LB from Oregon State! Need this on the back of a Gopher jersey!

Arizona State is coughing up an immediately eligible kicker!

The NW QB this year (from Clemson) was a 5* high school rating. Meaning top 30 in the country.

He obviously didn’t play up to it this season.

I see a 5th year JuCo OL from the Gophers entered the portal, this must explain why we are recruiting OL.

That's how this works right? Or is that only true for Dickson?

Sad to say I don't remember CJ Smith and had to look him up. 3* CB from the class of 2018. Wish him the best of luck and hope he had an elite two years with MN.

Huh? The already reported Ben Davis?

By the way, I remember when this portal was being announced, and it was supposed to be only a select few college personnel who were going to be given access to the database.

I assume that is still true. So I guess the 247 portal tracking is just based on what people publicly announce on Twitter and such.

Sitkowski's play and the fact that he is not immediately eligible make him a pretty borderline P5 prospect at this point. I think he would have had to transfer down.

Or sit out a year, which was probably fine since he had to play as a true Fr at Rutgers.

I believe he used this year as a rs Year

He did.

I don't think many P5 schools were clamoring for him.

If he wanted to leave Rutgers, his best bet would have been to go JuCo for a season (Last Chance U) and try to show that he is a better QB than what he showed at Rutgers.

Does anyone know if he was scholarship or a walk on?

EDIT: Doing my own homework, 247 said Minn, Iowa, Kansas etc offered. 3* 80 rating (not composite)

I'm pretty disappointed in this. It makes me think the staff knows something that we do not. Barring someone else coming here, he would have likely gotten significant PT next season.

At best our 4th option. Unless I am missing something.

He was our 6th WR this year and likely would have been no higher than 5th next year behind Bateman, CAB, Douglass and Green. Plus we have some pretty talented freshmen coming in and the rumors about a JD transfer.
I think VanDyne is talented and a few years ago would have been one of the top WRs on the team. I view this as an example of PJ out recruiting existing players.

What makes one think he would get significant time when he has 1 catch through three years? There were a couple red-shirted this year and 3 of our top 5 recruits are WR's.
