2020-2021 College Basketball Other Games Thread

Anyone else think that Gonzaga should be forced to move to a major conference? It seems unfair to the other West Coast teams like San Diego, Pacific, Portland, Santa Clara, San Francisco, etc.

So that was actually my first time watching him play. Yeah...he's awesome.

Open the season on btn+ vs green bay or open on national tv vs kansas on the number 1 ranked team... Pitino would have had to literally pay him to stay home.

Doubt he pissed him off. He did not prove to Suggs that he was a coach that could win. Suggs is sure Few is better and his chance at a national title is better. Time will reveal the final truth.
 

BC with a decent win without their leading scorer.

That’s MIAC talk right there. If you can’t beat em, kick me out. Aside from a winning tradition, Gonzaga doesn’t really have any major advantages over the other schools in their conference, at least that I’m aware of.

And besides, having a team as good as Gonzaga is very good for the WCC and gets more eyes watching thegames which means more money than they otherwise wouldn’t have.

agreed. With the way the roster came together, we should hopefully be able to compete in the B10. Gonzaga will obviously dance. We'll see what happens at the end of the day.

We should be near the top of the conference with this roster. Suggs had since he was 11 years old to see what was happening here. Then he had the values in the Gonzaga program,the USA national connections and what other coaches have been saying about other coaches.

See, the point would be....to have a coach capable of putting together a program that wouldn't open against UWGB on BTN+. Instead, be the team that's getting asked to open the season on national TV.

That's THE ISSUE, not the excuse, FFS.

He has recruited pretty well. There are other coaches who lose nearly every in state kid in states that produce better talent then Minnesota but they win with players from all over anyway.

You are correct, it is squarely on Pitino's shoulders that we do not have the number one ranked program currently.

He was asking for a coach that would have a top program, not the top. At the end of the day it is the coaches job to win championships that matter, get to the final 4 etc..
 



Is Illinois silly good or playing very, very bad teams so far? Anxious to see how the Gophers look in game 2.....seems like they gotta be pretty impressive to hang with Illinois.

I'd be willing to bet that if mark few was our coach jalen suggs would be playing basketball at gonzaga

The point went over your head, or maybe its difficult for you to read through those maroon colored glasses, but someone used 'opening against Green Bay on BTN+' as an excuse.

Well its not an excuse, its a failure. And that failure is wholly on Pitino.

This program sucks. It doesn't have to.
