This is about a month old. The first known 2019 Commitment offer is out already. He has offers from NDSU and SDSU.

"On my Gopher visit, I was able to meet a lot of the coaches, especially Coach Simon, Coach Fleck and Coach Addae, the DBs coach," Edina defender Matt Cavanagh said to GopherIllustrated. "After talking in the recruiting room for a little bit, I got to sit down with Coach Fleck and that’s when I was offered a PWO opportunity. We then checked out the stadium and tried on the new jerseys which was a really good time. After touring the city for a little I got to see the new athletes village which really blew me away. Everything from the practice field to the locker room to the weight room was nicer than anything that I’ve seen. Coach Fleck gave a presentation at the athletes village about the program’s culture and I was about ready to run through a wall at that point because I was so hyped up."
"Coach Addae asked me some questions about myself just to get to know me and he said he saw me as a strong safety for the Gophers defense," Cavanagh explained. "He explained the position a little bit but we didn’t have a ton of time to talk so I’m planning to visit again soon for a spring practice or something to get to know him and the defensive scheme better. The PWO conversation went incredibly well. I didn’t expect coming out the visit with any type of offer so I was gratefully surprised and honored when he told me. I’m really into Coach Fleck’s idea for the program and having an opportunity to be a part of the team that I’ve always cheered for is really exciting. He said based off what I showed on film alone they were prepared to offer. He basically said I’d be a good addition to the program which really excited me."
An in-state PWO offer is making waves with the Edina defender.
"This offer (preferred walk-on) offer from Minnesota is a dream come true, and I'm super excited about it. I'd love to play for the Gophers," Cavanagh told 247Sports. "I've also hearing from North Dakota who has already offered, South Dakota State and Penn, both of which I'll be visiting this weekend. NDSU and South Dakota are two more schools I'll soon hit, and some Ivy League schools. Most schools are seeing me as an outside linebacker or strong safety, and both of which I play in high school, so I'm good with it!"
