$200: the final straw for this Gopher alum & lifelong fan

My wife and I are attending an ugly Christmas sweater party tomorrow night organized by the same set of all the parents we "grew up with" together as our kids all played hockey from K-12. The bond is indeed very tight. We still hang out and our kids haven't played together in 8 or more years.
Small town? Otherwise, the kids who started in kindergarten would/should have little relationship to the kids who played on the varsity team. Maybe half at best would/could have made it that far. Or, it’s a small subset that made it the whole way you keep in touch with I suppose that could be.

I’m sure you are correct and he doesn’t know who he is hanging out with 😂

You are going to lose your mind when you hear about the whole state of Virginia (Over $3000 at JMU) https://cardinalnews.org/2025/12/18...thletics-than-any-other-school-in-the-nation/
That's starting to get to the point where you seriously reconsider your decision to enroll at JMU??

JMU is like a St Cloud State ... not saying they're exactly equivalent, I'm saying they're like a 3rd tier of public school in that state.

You're going to pay $3000 per year more money on top of normal school money, so athletes can get paid and drive nice cars around? Do they even give students free football tickets?

That's a joke. A few hundred in fees, I can see ... $3000 a year? F that. I'd put my foot down if I was a parent of a high schooler considering that school. Not happening
