Pairwise as of 1/16: #1 vs. #8

Friday 1/20 @ 7PM - BSN aka FSN
Saturday 1/21 @ 7PM - BTN

Between this series and the SCSU series, this is either the best or second best team the Gophers will play in the regular season. If Nazar plays it might be the best. Don't read too much into last series as UM was decimated. This should be much better hockey.

Motzko is 13-6-3 against UM at the U. 5-5-1 at Mariucci.
 









Big loss... I think Mittelstadt would have started to eat into Thomas' ice time as the year progressed and have a more solid top 6.

Hopefully no other losses for this weekend.

I just have a bad feeling about the game tonight. Michigan needs it really bad and the gophers did not play super great last weekend. Even Saturday when they won there were lots of odd man rushes and they were out shot.
 


Very rough stretch for the gophers there. Got enough goaltending to keep them scoreless though. We get a goal here that's a big momentum shift
 





It can’t just be coincidence that Portillo is the only goalie who has trouble keeping our nets in place. Total BS
 

If Gophers put a couple more in on this PP, things might get chippy. After Snugger scored someone on the Michigan side said or did something and had to be held back by the refs.

When your season is in the shitter it’s easy to get chippy.
 



Had time to clear the zone, they couldn't and now it's a tied game.
 



That was an atrocious sequence. Like embarrsingly bad.

From what their expectations were it’s not been a good season. They are 19 points out of first in the big ten. Yes 8th in pairwise, but that’s got to be disappointing too.
 

GD Huglen, first you don't clear the puck and now you decide to drop down instead of attacking the puck carrier.

Yes but to say their season is in the shitter is just foolish.
 

That’s the dangerous thing about Michigan. Fall asleep for 30 seconds and you might have 2 pucks in the back of your net. Frustrating
 

Regular season doesn't matter they are a contender. And if Nazar comes back it's more trouble. They have 2+ forward lines of future NHLers and the Gophers are top line heavy.

Gopher PP zone entries are pathetic. They should study UM PP film.

Anyways, Gophers still can win this one if they don't give up the next goal.
