Northwestern shot 15-32 from 3. That's really all that needs to be said.

I posted that I thought the defense wasn't that bad against Indiana and that the Hoosiers hit a number of tough 3's and played a great game. Tonight the 3's were wide open and the Gophers didn't have the crutch of trying to defend elite athletes like Yogi opening up the floor for shooters...THIS was a terrible game on both ends of the floor, but especially defensively. As someone put it in the game thread, Northwestern's ONLY shot at winning this game was burying a number of 3's...and the Gophers made that way too easy. Pitino should get a ton of heat for that as should the Seniors on this team that got punked on their home court AGAIN.

Another lucky shooting night? Yeah right. Pitino's fault for not recruiting guys athletic enough to cover the three or stop penetration. Fact is we have guys who can't handle playing defense or the pressure of playing big time basketball. Hurry up and use your elegibility already.
