    Trump wants to change/limit NIL.

The reason to have it pass through a clearinghouse probably has almost nothing to do with assuring athletes are being compensated at market rate for the endorsement work/ NIL licensing work they are supposedly doing. It would be nearly impossible to establish FMV for this, and even harder to...

Minnesota is the ONLY team to shut out multiple AP No. 1 teams 〽️

I don’t remember any of these. But I think maybe the 1977 one may have hit my father’s (entirely, absolutely, objectively justified) hatred of the Michigan Wolverines just right, and that’s why Minnesota is my team today.

    Conference Realignment Updates

Everyone assumes the evolution will continue until it is finally the Power Two. But we’re already there. That already happened. None of the schools we’re still talking about really matter. The next realignment is going to be set in motion by Texas or Georgia leaving the SEC.

Barry Alvarez whines about Fickell and offers no solutions

Barry ran the football program for years as AD, long after he was no longer technically the HC. Winning % by era Alverez’s last 13 seasons as HC = .73 Alverez AD/ Bielema HC = .73 Alverez AD/ Andersen & Chryst HC= .74 Post Alverez = .54 It’s only been four seasons, but Alverez’s retirement...

Has Big Ten surpassed SEC in college football hierarchy? Examining the gap between powerhouse conferences

Then how do we explain away their abysmal on-field performances against the Big Ten lately? It’s funny that SEC vs. Big Ten used to be my SEC friends’ favorite topic, and now they’re all like “I don’t want to talk about it.”

Has Big Ten surpassed SEC in college football hierarchy? Examining the gap between powerhouse conferences

The SEC was “better” for a minute about a decade ago, mostly by perception, when they were more egregious about pay-for-play, skirting academic eligibility equality with non-athlete students, and enjoyed playing Big Ten teams (that usually were lower in its conference standings) in bowl games...

Dep't of Education says Revenue-sharing should be subject to Title IX

Title IX is, and has always been, codified institutional racism.

Is it fair that Notre Dame is independent?

And only after it became clear to them they weren’t getting an invite to come to the Big Ten along with Washington and Oregon.

Is it fair that Notre Dame is independent?

If we learned anything from this year, it is that sitting around for three and a half weeks is not really much of a competitive advantage. It says a lot that NONE of the four teams that won their conference championship game and got a “bye” could win after sitting on their asses for almost an...

Is it fair that Notre Dame is independent?

I swear I once heard this about: Texas A&M & Texas Oklahoma & Oklahoma State Oregon & Oregon State UCLA & Cal Washington & Washington State … and probably a dozen or so others.

Is it fair that Notre Dame is independent?

The SEC and ACC will continue to pander to Notre Dame to make sure they don’t join the Big Ten (which would cause some of their members to follow ND). Once Notre Dame has sucked all the blood out of the ACC, and it is fully-destroyed, the Big 12 will agree to a similar deal that ND had with...

Wow! ESPN...I mean ABC taking every opportunity to tell us the B1G is over-rated.

I like to swear on here, but if this guy doesn’t get banned in the next 30 minutes I’m done with this board forever.

Wow! ESPN...I mean ABC taking every opportunity to tell us the B1G is over-rated.

This is why 18-team conferences without divisions don’t really work.

Value of Athletic Program: MN 32 of 75

There isn’t anything preventing the Big Ten and SEC from inviting a few teams from other conferences to participate.

Value of Athletic Program: MN 32 of 75

Year after year the Big Ten and SEC continue to separate themselves from all other conferences. It is almost absurd that they participate in March Madness and the CFP when they could just own equivalents to them if they wanted to.

Alabama AD to reevaluate nonconference slate after CFP picks

That’s nice for them. But our team, for instance, is a lot more likely to be in South Carolina or Ol Miss’s position than Clemson or Arizona State’s. Shouldn’t we have a path to the playoff that is similar to theirs?
