    Point Guard

Lack of guard play is 90+% of the issue this year, and concerning for next year. There is absolutely no way to win at a high level without adequate guard play, and we haven't been getting it. Cooper is good, despite the missed FTs, but you need 3-4 of him. Carrington has potential but it's...

All Things Nolan Winter Recruitment Thread (Class of 2023, Gophers Offered, Son of Trevor)

This thread is making me crack up. Cmon people, I don't like Wisconsin either but there's absolutely no reason if I had a kid that was good enough to play Big 10 basketball I would tell him NOT to consider going to Wisconsin. Like it or not, they win WAY more than we do. And the Chatman...

All Things Taison Chatman Recruiting Thread (Class of 2023, Totino-Grace HS, Gophers Offered)

Reading all the comments here... why would a kid choose MN over the opportunity to play major minutes right away at Kansas? Love Ben and what he's doing, but you can't compete with playing on ESPN and making deep runs in the tourney every single year.

    2022 Transfer Portal Discussion

Exactly! College basketball isn't about kids staying on scholarship anymore. It's about a 2-3 year investment, then transferring. Mid majors are the new minor leagues for the Power 5 conferences. Sure, would be nice to have another shooter here, but realistically there's only so many...

Baylor Schieierman enters the transfer portal

Why should/would they be on the list for a kid that has absolutely no interest in doing anything other than profiting off of his name? What a waste of time. Has anyone here actually seen him play more than 1 game? He is good, but not that good...

All Things Mercy Miller Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024 from Minnehaha Academy, Gophers Offered)

Fact... nothing they did was illegal or against the rules. Sounds like you just don't like that they did it, which is your opinion, and you're entitled to it... but certainly not reason to trash the school. Or the kids. Another fact... Jalen's birthday is in June. While that makes him old...

All Things Mercy Miller Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024 from Minnehaha Academy, Gophers Offered)

Completely non-sensical. They had 2 LOTTERY PICKS play at the school. Lottery picks. As in the NBA. When was the last time that ever happened in MN high school basketball? Let me think... never. Whether they skipped a grade or not makes no difference. Hard to sustain... yeah, hard to...

All Things Mercy Miller Recruitment Thread (Class of 2024 from Minnehaha Academy, Gophers Offered)

Huh? Good for you for ripping on high school kids. Should they apologize for having 2 generational high school players (top 5 NBA picks) that attract other kids who want to play there?

Official Brad Davison is a Tool Thread

The fact that there is an entire thread dedicated to this person indicates he is getting exactly the reaction he's hoping for (otherwise said: it's working). Just ignore it and move on.

    Hoiberg/Nebraska RUMOR

They had it pretty good with Tim Miles, for Nebraska basketball at least.

Agreed! Act like you've been there before. Love it.

    This isn't going as planned

You ask for people to be patient, but you wasted no time to say that "things aren't going as planned..." Asking everyone to take a breath, but just kind of lobbing it in there that "I am still very skeptical of the recruiting for '22"... unreal. You need to take a breath, enjoy overachieving...

2020-21 Gopher Transfers - Where Are They Now?

Oregon St is terrible. Like really bad. I watched a little bit of their game yesterday against Arizona, and while AZ is very talented, Oregon St is just horrible.

So far I am totally wrong...

Exhibits of your ridiculousness: Exhibit A: A HOF coach had a multi-year lead in recruiting Holloman vs. Ben. Exhibit B: Holloman is not a ridiculous talent but MSU is really hard to pass up (Izzo is the man IMO). Exhibit C: He got 3 top 10 kids in the state to sign when he'd been in the job...

So far I am totally wrong...

The thing that I absolutely loved about watching the Princeton game was the intensity of the coaching staff. You could hear both Ben and Thorson screaming encouragement on nearly every possession. This kind of energy and contagiousness is what was being begged for with the previous regime...

    Jalen Suggs recent interview

This whole thread is hilarious. "My friends sister's wife's girlfriend knows a guy, who said he acts like a baby, etc.". LOL. And to suggest he was grandstanding when he was hurt in his first game is stupid and ignorant. It's a future pro, in his first game, gets hurt, sees his future flash...

    Minnehaha Academy drops to 2A?

This is true and has been for... forever. I am old enough to remember the one-class state tournaments they had for only 2 years.... '94-96. Would be fun to see the 4-class champs play in a final four format to crown a single champ. But the MN state high school league in all their wisdom and...

All Things Gophers Basketball Class of 2022 Recruiting Thread

He plays hard and is a better shooter than people give him credit for. He played on a team with 2 future top 3 picks; easy to get lost in that shuffle. I don't think he's a day 1 starter but I think he can play and contribute as a 3 and D wing.
