    Jim Jackson out coaching Pitino

So who is the best perimeter defender? What is your basis for “true”?

    Jim Jackson out coaching Pitino

Saw this from Ryan James (247) ... more complicated than you’re making it: “Two. Rutgers Attacks the Small Guards. Rutgers made 26 of 49 attempts shooting 53 percent for the game plus made 18 of 25 foul shots which is actually a big step up from their very foul shooting. Geo Baker had 16 points...

    Jim Jackson out coaching Pitino

I saw that quote as well ... I wonder if you asked all D1, D2 and D3 coaches, “32 seconds on the clock, down 3, you’re in the bonus against an average at best free throw shooting team ... what do you do?” How many would come up with “run out the clock to force up an easy to defend game tying 3...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT RUTGERS IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

PG has 2 jobs ... get ball to guys to score and score when you can ... last shot had .009% chance of going in ... his teammates had 33% chance if he would just make a pass ... needs to be smarter, but coach calling that play was even dumber

Technical before half was a huge swing

Again, very simple ... passing and moving stopped as the dribbling started. The ball can not be passed and dribbled at the same time. Thus 1 player over dribbling stops the movement and changes the offense. Go back and watch the first 8 minutes and then the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half...

Technical before half was a huge swing

Your lack of knowledge of the game is actually quite funny ... You didn’t notice that the first half 3’s were open shots in rhythm? Did you notice the energy level of the players? Did you notice that all went away at the end of the first half and carried through the 2nd half? 3 guys that...

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

3 guys that accounted for 24 puts in the first half took 2 shots in the second half ... that’s coaching not players

Technical before half was a huge swing

Our 2nd half adjustment was to have Marcus dribble the air out of the ball and look at his stat line ... first half ball movement was great and it’s up to the coach to keep that the focus of the offense.

Elmore is an idiot ... Marcus was the problem tonight not his teammates

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

in this game, we’re better when Marcus doesn’t dribble and moves the ball

***OFFICIAL MINNESOTA AT PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Please stop dribbling and go back to the ball movement used at the start of the game. Marcus needs to move the ball.

Where did the ball movement from the first half go? Get back to it please.

Bench energy and Gabe’s Contact prescription

On his radio show, Pitino said that they went back to the fundamentals of driving, passing, catching, and shot selection ... on the offense after the Maryland loss, "if we're going to play like that we have zero chance". Also said they are better shooters than they've shown ... Wonder if we're...

Bench energy and Gabe’s Contact prescription

Good points ... I went back and watch a replay and 2 of Gabe's 3-point attempts were with the shot clock under 5 seconds. He did have 2 other looks that were open looks. As for the layup attempts, the wings have been told to attack and those look forced as well. Gabe and Both had their layups...

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

Thank you for doing this research ... this is a great example of how analytics tell a different story than what our eyes or emotions paint for us.

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

With Pitino, how many wings (2's or 3's) have improved as shooters?

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

Back cuts and back screens are an example of being well scouted ... Maryland played 5 men out which pulled Liam out of the lane. When that happens, you can't over commit by trying to deny passes to the wing. That's how we've been playing defense most of the year and why Gabe has been able to...

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

A forced drive / shot at the rim is no better than a forced 3 pointer ... it's likely to end with a miss. We've seen that many times even from Carr and he's one fo the best at the country when going to the rim. He misses those forced shots as well.

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

I think this is a great example of a player thinking too much ... if even for a split second he's thinking "is this a good shot and coach is telling us to shoot less" it's going to be bad ... he didn't have a problem with this shot as a freshman

Chip: Richard Pitino must address a Gophers liability: rotten shooting

I wonder what RP is doing ... publicly he is saying we’re a bad shooting team and guys need to get to the hoop. If that’s the approach he’s taking in practice, I wouldn’t expect the shooting to get better. If you don’t use practices to get as many reps / shots in 5-on-5 game situations, it’s...
