Alternative Christmas Music - Deep Cuts Edition

The best Muppets collab since John Denver.

Let the music play - new Concert Reviews/Experiences

Speaking of photos taken outside First Ave, this is one of my all time favorite photos and screams Minneapolis. Nothing related to the OP; I just like the photo.

The United States of Pop: How Each State Contributed to Popular Music

Yeah, MA seems low. Are you the GH Dinosaur, Jr. fan or is that someone else? GH LOVES them some Lemonheads. GA & MS are too high. NY & CA at top 2 almost seems unfair. I'd go Top 5: 1. Tennessee 2. Louisiana 3. Michigan 4. Minnesota 5. Massachusetts

That's how it was billed. Seems odd though. Maybe you tried to sneak into Iggy Pop? Or Burt Bacharach?

Let the music play - new Concert Reviews/Experiences

This is a cool picture of Elvis Costello at his first ever First Ave show earlier this week. I didn't go, but it would have been cool to see him there.

The United States of Pop: How Each State Contributed to Popular Music

Wow, #10, nice! And beating out states like NJ, MA, & WA. Dylan & Prince are obviously giants, but I also think it's the diversity of music. Dylan, Prince, Soul Asylum, Rhymesayers are all very different. We're not known for one thing like WA.

    Iowa over Michigan

I don't buy the argument that the B1G needs a team in the CFP playoff every year. Whether Michigan makes it or not this year has zero impact on the long-term success of the league. However, the West is 0-7 in the CCG and usually gets smoked. I think Iowa winning does a lot more for the West...

PJ Targeting Ciarrocca for Return as OC?

A Ciarrocca offense + a full year of a Rossi defense!? Oh man...buckle up!

Yeah, the Armory is really cool. Love how they leaned into the mid-century mod feel. This is hanging in my living room.

That seems odd that they wouldn't accommodate a band wanting tighter restrictions. Maybe there is something else, like they couldn't staff it appropriately to enforce.

    Chryst 30-16 PJ 29-17 last 4 years

Fleck coached circles around Chryst yesterday. Exemplified on that final drive when Chryst had the huge blunder on 4th & 1 and then when Fleck had the wherewithal to challenge Mertz’s slide. Every time the camera showed Fleck, he looked focused and confident. Every time it showed Chryst, he...

Tanner Morgan Announces Return For 2022

Any Gopher fan not ecstatic with this news is bonkers. Experience and consistency are huge advantages in college football. Morgan already has the most wins of any Gopher quarterback in history, and some would rather go with an unknown? The odds of winning the West next year improve...

Let the music play - new Concert Reviews/Experiences

Saw Jim Gaffigan in Rochester last week. He did two huge sold-out shows (by Rochester standards). Really funny. Except he went hard after marching bands, which seemed unprovoked. There was a medical episode during Jim's set. I think the guy walked out, so hopefully nothing serious. Jim...

    All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

I agree. Good balance of comedy and murder mystery. I don't usually care for Martin Short but enjoyed his character here. I also thought Selena Gomez held her own with these two comedy vets. There were a few "that doesn't make any sense" moments for me, but I suppose that's maybe by design...

Week 7 Big Ten Power Rankings

Agree with this. The BG loss is starting to look like a true outlier. Gophers have now beaten CO, PU, and NE pretty decisively while not being favored in each. So yeah, Gophers learned from it, and other teams may discount us because of it.

Let the music play - new Concert Reviews/Experiences

We saw Dessa at Forager in Rochester last Friday, outside on their patio. Only about 100 tickets, so a very intimate show, which was cool. Dessa was great as always. Plus, we discovered that Dessa has a whiskey that's distilled at Rockfilter in southern MN, so picked up a bottle of that. Saw...

Minnesota Vs. Bowling Green 2021 - Media Predictions

I like how you call it Fleck/Tressel ball. I have the same view but haven't really ever heard anyone else say it.
