All Things 2022 Minnesota High School Football Thread

Rosemount beat South without their starting RB and beat Eden Prairie with some good stops and some great punting. While these results could be repeatable, my thoughts are that without some offensive diversity (Eden Prairie and South both are run dominant, but still pass more than Rosemount)...

All Things 2022 Minnesota High School Football Thread

Rosemount should be #1 after this week. Maple Grove barely beat Wayzata and hasn't beaten anyone in top 10. Unless people think Northern Burb football is superior to Southern, Rosemount should bet the nod. Still, I doubt Rosemount will beat Eden Prairie or Lakeville South in the playoffs...

What's the Better Coaching Job - Nebby or BADgerland?

Nebraska has the NIL, fan support and a surprisingly patient fan base after everything they recently went through. I think they will give the new coach a three-to-four-year window to turn this thing around. WI has a defense and OL that has a solid foundation. If you get a QB and a few people...

    Gopherhole Football Mailbag.

What are the 40 times of our running backs? Seems like without the "freshmen" from last year we don't run outside with success the same. Is this do to the OL or the speed of the backs?

    2022 Minnesota Bowl Projection Tracker

My thinking is not a this year or bust sort of thinking. My thought in making a CFP, is it really gives us a good chance of doing both because it will change perception of our team nationally more than losing to OSU in Indy and going to the Rose Bowl. Especially if one believes we can win...

    2022 Minnesota Bowl Projection Tracker

Never thought I would see the day where we could have a serious discussion on: Would you rather go to the Rose Bowl or College Football Playoffs. Personally I choose the CFP, simply because if we make that the chances of us being the next Clemson goes up tremendously and we will see the Rose...

The headline in the Sunday paper will read?...

Are Gopher fans color blind? Stripe out was a disaster. Gophers win 56-10.

    Getting Something That’s 5 lbs?

We realize it takes big donors to create big programs. Thanks for helping to make the Golden Gophers elite. Hope this thread gave you some joy (I know it did to a lot of us). I am sure your donation is helping to make our team better. Thanks!!

    Getting Something That’s 5 lbs?

Surprised no ones guessed PJ's old forehead and eyes preserved in a clear resin for you to stare into on those cold nights.

    Purdue Game Thoughts Thread

Great start to this thread. Purdue will rise and fall with O'Connell and Jones. They have the talent to beat us. I am still worried about our pash rush and not convinced O'Connell won't find time to get Jones the ball. While I love our secondary, I still think it ranks below Penn State...

2022-20223 College Football Head Coach Fired/Hired Thread

Ga Tech realizes ACC is either falling apart or being poached. Still, they hold a key position if they can invest in their programs enough to show they can hold the Atlanta market. Creating excellence around football has never been more important. I bet they will hire big and try to show B1G...

    Where will Minnesota be ranked?

21 because enough teams did lose. However we wont crack top 15 until after Penn State game.

ESPN: In letter, Pac-12's George Kliavkoff cites 'significant' financial, mental health concerns on UCLA move to Big Ten

He is a good politician. He knows how to speak to his audience regardless of the truth be lives out or believe in. If Clemson came knowing he wouldn't care about how it impacted S. Carolina, the environment or the athletes.

PJ’s Road Record gives me confidence!

This game will be more about the mental toughness of our team than the skill. We are the better team this year, but we will learn a lot about the toughness of our guys in the trenches. They will get punched and how they respond will tell us a lot about this team. I think PJ has this team...

Who is your Gophers "Pick to Click" in the big road game at Michigan State?

offense: Spann-Ford: He has had great moments for sure but I think this is a 2 touchdown day for him. 2 - RB sets: I believe with CAB out, we will use a get the best people on the field and use a second RB to be an outlet for Morgan more than we have done so in the past. defense...

Poll: Gophers record at the end of Big Ten play

Hard not to say undefeated, but the reality is that with CAB out I don't trust the WR core will be good enough to create a solid passing attack that can win big games. I still think they win the West, but not good enough to make it into the national championship spotlight yet.

Will the Gophers crack the Top 25 this week?

I always hate it when people say ranking don't matter. Ranking help recruiting, determine bowl bids and national and local perception/conversation/interest in the team. If we beat MSU, one could argue that we have a better resume and team than Kentucky. However, because of preseason...

Heisman Five - Mohamed Ibrahim - ESPN

So excited to watch him next week against Michigan State. Will get a whole game to show the team is legit and he is what makes our offense flourish. Morgan and the WR's need to do enough to keep defenses honest, but if they are we should roll through teams.
