    Where will Minnesota be ranked?

I think 21-25. Rather than viewing us as really good based on this game, they’ll see Michigan State as worse than they thought, and we won’t get credit for that. But at 4-0 with a road P5 win in dominating fashion (again), I think it’ll be impossible for voters to leave them out. If Minnesota...

Quick look at remaining opponents after week 4

I wish for that (actually I’d rather play Michigan, but whatever). We hung with Ohio State last year. They would have more to lose than us. But while I’m high on this team, I’m still not going to start browsing hotels in Indy just yet. @Penn State, @Illinois, and @Wisconsin will probably be...

Will the Gophers crack the Top 25 this week?

But MSU won’t be a “quality win” according to the media. MSU will have lost to an unranked Minnesota team and fallen to 2-2, so obviously they were never good in the first place! Therefore, Minnesota didn’t beat a good team and gets little credit. The disrespect gets old and the circular poll...

Texas A&M loses to Appalachian State, and then when embarrassed by their pep rally issues DCMA complaints

Nothing screams insecure like making fun of another college’s academics. What a weird cult.

Scott Frost FIRED & Updates on Nebraska Coaching Search Thread

Haven’t seen Dave Clawson’s name thrown around much. As a Wake fan I hope that doesn’t happen. He’s a little older so maybe not what Nebby wants, but he has a solid track record of turning programs around. If he can make Wake into a conference contender, he can certainly bring Nebby back to...

Shooter: While Gophers open in a 50,805-seat stadium, Ohio State opens in a 104,944 stadium.

I, too, can pull random facts off Wikipedia. Maybe he can tell us the schools’ colors next.

Big Ten could expand beyond additions of USC, UCLA, says commissioner Kevin Warren, if it adds 'additional value' to conference

US News is indeed garbage but the reality is that a lot of people use it as a reputation metric, hence my point about those schools not being a slap in the face from an academic reputation standpoint. FSU is very similar to Nebraska athletically and (until very recent years) academically. With...

Big Ten could expand beyond additions of USC, UCLA, says commissioner Kevin Warren, if it adds 'additional value' to conference

A slap in the face? That’s a bit pretentious. They may not be AAU (I honestly don’t know) or research powerhouses like most B1G schools, but they’re both US News top 60 universities—and ranked above Minnesota. Not like they’re Troy and Fresno State. Miami has long been a good academic school...

Pitts Pat Narduzzi Thinks if Pitt was in The B1G Pitt Would Win the B1G championship Every Year.

As a Wake fan who had to suffer though getting beat down in the ACC championship by his team, this jackassery doesn’t surprise me. He was a huge tool about Picket’s fake slide stunt.

USC and UCLA Planning to join BIG TEN.

Not really a fan of this. Maybe I’ll end up liking the arrangement one day, but I strongly prefer geographically/culturally cohesive conferences. Maryland and Rutgers were bad enough (I’ve always been good with Nebraska, personally), but they were at least contiguous to PA. Similarly, I hated...

Pat Forde: If everything is negotiable and every agreement is breakable is Big Ten really committed to keeping Purdue and Minnesota for the long term?

What a dink. Perhaps someone should remind him Minnesota is in the 14th largest media market in the country, 5th largest in the new B1G. Not to mention other gaping problems with his brainless fear mongering.

Official SEC Cham...I mean CFP Championship Game Thread.

It’d be like watching Wisconsin and Iowa play for the championship. But I still can’t muster any sympathy. They could’ve prevented this by beating Bama and they didn’t.

    Bowl Games Locks

A&M has a talent gap over Wake for sure, but they’ve looked pretty shaky at points this year. And Wake beat A&M in their previous bowl matchup just a few years ago despite the talent gap. But Clemson has been playing very well lately. I see them as a lock too.

Brief MN mentions in "Inside WI Recruiting" from The Athletic

I see this as good news. Wisconsin homers wouldn’t care about PJ if he weren’t a threat to Wisconsin dominance in the upper Midwest. He clearly is—and they’re afraid.

Gophers vs West Virginia in Guaranteed Rate Bowl

I hate these “only fans of these teams will care” takes. No sh-t. That’s the case with almost every single bowl game. You think people will care about App State vs Western Kentucky or Oregon State vs Utah State (both top 15 on this list)? People will make an effort to watch (1) the big name...

Nonsense Play - ACC Championship Yesterday

I’m a Wake alum and Gopher fan so I’m biased. Sure, I guess it was legal. But I don’t get defending it as a good football play. Taking advantage of rules meant treat you with kid gloves is pretty cheap and should be prohibited.

Why did Wisconsin get Las Vegas over us???

Isn’t this kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy? “X team travels better than Y—let’s give them desirable Bowl A in destination City A.” *X gets more fans than Y because it’s a better bowl and better destination* “See? Told you they travel better. Take that into account next year.” Repeat cycle...
