FAALELE Top 10 OT NFL Draft

This is the quote from Fleck I was referencing earlier: “We have to be able to keep it simple for our players, we have to be sound and we've got to play fast,” Fleck said. “We've got to put our players in the best position to be successful. That’s what I’ve told Joe, and that’s what I want to...

FAALELE Top 10 OT NFL Draft

In Mike Leach's book, "Swing your Sword," he says the top asset of any head coach is your Offensive Line Coach. I wouldn't say it's the hardest position to coach, but it's certainly the most important. It's a great book and a much more interesting story than the general "Coach biography."...

FAALELE Top 10 OT NFL Draft

No, you're seeing the same things that I am. He can also get blown by during his pass protection too (just like any other college Tackle). This is my own speculation, but there's a chance that things are still moving a little fast for him. He does not have the benefit of 10,000 or more reps...

Official 2022 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Rumors

Yeah I think his name is Yahya Black...from Marshall. I can't remember the details, but I don't think the Gophers had much of a shot at him.

For sure. I think most kids from Marshall would commit to Minnesota if they got an offer. I do worry about these kids from Caledonia (well really, just the one kid) going elsewhere. Caledonia is just as close to Iowa City and Madison as it is to Minneapolis.

Sweet - Marshall has been pumping out some talent lately. 6'5 280 is a pretty darn big 16 year old too. I imagine he's ours unless something funny happens.

    Justin Walley Commits! (2021)

Probably some jet/fly sweep stuff. The RB position has really fell out of favor with the stud athletes these days. Everyone wants to play WR.

Winfield Jr. Update - Tampa Bay Times

Not a good year to miss most of camp. I doubt he gives them much or anything on special teams, so they may have to move on without him

Yeah I've never been to either Manhattan or Bismarck, but I assume they look and smell the same

    SEC/ACC fan for a year

In the SEC, I'll be watching the (hopefully) soap opera that is Mississippi and Mississippi St. Leach has always been this awesome anti-hero that I like rooting for while Kiffin is the classic villain. And the SEC West is the best division in college football. I haven't watched a lot of ACC...

Kid's got the measurables that the NFL salivates over. He did not have a great year as a Sophomore.

Which SEC school should Big Ten fans adopt? A fan's guide for 2020 (Minnesota: Florida)

I'll be rooting for our boy Lane and his new arch nemesis Mike Leach to play spoiler this year. Go Rebels and Go Bulldogs.

What will our team look like?

We'll be a run-heavy team and take some deep shots occasionally. You've got 6 OL coming back, 4 TE coming back and a bell-cow running back

I had never heard of him before and just watched his highlight tape. He doesn't look particularly big or fast. Looks like a good FCS player. If we offer him, I assume we have as good of a shot as anyone.

Gophers make top 3 for Arizona LB Tony Fields

Dang, looks like it's West Virginia. It definitely feels unimportant at the moment.

Ranking Maryland's New 2020 Opponents from Toughest to Easiest (7. Minnesota, November 21)

For sure... It does bring up the question, though, is it that big of an advantage playing at home this year? Is playing in Camp Randall going to be intimidating? Will they still play Jump Around before the 4th quarter?

STrib: Who might emerge as the Gophers' top receivers?

This will be pretty exciting. I don't know where this rumor came from, but I remember a lot of people hyping Matt Simon as a potential Pro WR coach. Now we get a chance to see his true work in year 4. The thought from the experts (House and Burns) is that Emilen steps up and runs circles around...

Ranking Maryland's New 2020 Opponents from Toughest to Easiest (7. Minnesota, November 21)

Tough schedule for the Terps. Lots of people high on the Hoosiers this year (SI ranks the hoosiers game as a tougher one than Gophers). I can't say I watched a minute of Hoosier football last year and I missed our game with the Hoosier the year before. They got that big lefty QB...I'll try and...

Big Ten Football Schedule Released (Gophers open with Michigan State)

Challenging? Yes. Exciting? Yes. That September schedule will make for some tense viewing in my household. Gosh, was it Reusse that used to give Brewster such a hard time for scheduling cupcakes? Didn't he have some bit about Brewster serving cupcakes in his Turkey of the Year article? I might...
