Poll: Which assistant coaches should not be retained in their current role?

I wouldn’t be offended if there were changes either. Given the performance of the defense, it would probably be a mistake if all options weren’t on the table.

Poll: Which assistant coaches should not be retained in their current role?

I don’t think MN or Illinois should fire everyone but MN was seriously lacking this season and a lot of the issues, at least on defense, appeared to be coaching based.

Poll: Which assistant coaches should not be retained in their current role?

Even teams that struggle angainst Blue Bloods are good at certain phases of the game when playing every other team. This Minnesota team wasn’t consistently good at any of the three phases of the game. There’s definitely room for improvement for the coaching staff.

Poll: Which assistant coaches should not be retained in their current role?

I’d fire Kevin Kane just for the fact that he vouched for the Purdue DT that didn’t play a snap because he hid a back injury.

Gophers 2025 Movement Roster Thread - Transfers, Bowl Opt-Outs, Etc.

That should be a very real fear. The entire defense regressed. I’d expect anyone with a shot at the next level to question their ability to make it there as a Gopher if the current Defensive staff stays in tact.

Williams and Nestor back. Kingsbury out.

Kid can play. Haven’t seen many, if any, DBs this year undercut a route the way he did on the second INT. He had a great game!

    Niko Castillo Commits!

Seems pretty easy to follow to me but thanks for the kind words! Getting up in arms over every HS recruit is a waste of energy. This kid may not even be on the roster in a year.

    Niko Castillo Commits!

In the current college football landscape, how many HS recruits actually need to hit for a team to be successful? Additionally, the team needs to get as close to 105 players as possible each year which means there will be lower end kids recruited just due to economics of those last spots on the...

    Danny Collins

Yeah, that’s what it looks like on TV. When I mentioned a player in the first post that wasn’t an indictment on his play but an indication that everyone was playing confused. On the play I mentioned, he doesn’t go with him in man but also throws his hands up when he realizes that everyone...

Rumor from CBS that Dylan Riola may jump Nebraska

If that’s true, he’d have to get drafted #15 overall or higher to receive a larger salary playing in the NFL.

    Who walks on Saturday?

If G League players can play college basketball, I wonder what would stop UFDAs (or player drafted lower than expected) with eligibility left can come back?

    Lee Corso

I opened this thread fully expecting an announcement that he passed for the exact reason you mentioned above.

I believe it’s entirely possible that many players have no idea what to do on any given play call.

All Things 2026 Minnesota Lynx Season

Purposely having people in a romantic relationship on the same sports team seems like such a bad idea.

    It's time for a change.

I don’t think it’s time to fire PJ but I sure hope he’s quick to fire when he realizes made a mistake. If not, his time will come sooner than later.

Do you guys look at the spread

That’s my point! Robb Smith made a stacked defense look terrible. I don’t think there’s that much upside on this current defense but I should’ve said tpalent alone won’t fix these problems.

Do you guys look at the spread

The problems on defense are very much due to really bad coaching and not talent. Talent doesn’t fix this issue. All of these games remind me of watching the Gopher defense get destroyed by Maryland in 2018. That defense had a ton of talent but the coaching was so bad those players couldn’t...

Go back and watch the crossing route to #80 that went for a long play in the 3rd quarter and try to tell what the hell Mike Gerald was doing… They’re in man coverage and he doesn't go with his man…

Do you guys look at the spread

Purdue and Michigan State are 0-16 in the Big Ten and they combined for over 900 yards against the Gophers. OT was needed to be MSU and a pick 6 was needed to beat Purdue..
