2020 College Football Other Games Thread: Week 1

I've watched almost every college game so far and watching these games, seeing fans in the stands (with a lot of maskless fans).... this whole thing seems like a parallel universe. I thought I'd be happy, but it makes me feel even more empty.

University of Alabama COVID-19 outbreak not great news for college football season

I think it's statistically unlikely that anything extremely serious would happen to a player (although possible) so I'm going to not go with the obvious answer there. Alternatively, the worst thing for a conference is if someone like Nick Saban, Ed Orgeron, Dabo Swinnery, Mac Brown, got sick...

U: Gophers to Celebrate Digital Minnesota State Fair

The first thing that popped into my mind is one of the Friday the 13th movies. Not 100% sure which one though.

UCLA starting OT enters Transfer Portal to play this fall

And so it begins. "Offensive tackle Jake Burton, a two-year starter for coach Chip Kelly, announced on Twitter that he will enter the transfer portal in the hopes of catching on somewhere this fall. "I wish to thank God and my family for all of the love, guidance, and support they have given...

U of M proposes a two-week pause on students moving to campus

If the B10 all made classes online (which is inevitable everywhere) and announced it a month ago..... They'd be playing football instead of cutting sports and furloughing Athletic Departments. Saying no to football and yes to in-person classes never made a lick of sense.

    B10 Winter/Spring Season in Domes

Nebraska AD talking about the plans for football. https://omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/the-milk-has-been-spilled-bill-moos-big-ten-starting-to-plan-2021-football-season/article_0dff03ca-2597-51bc-b140-4042812ab87a.html "The league — including NU — is now turning its focus to a football...

The Big 10 made a huge mistake, change my mind...

Back to the topic.... From a perception stand point I think it will almost solely on how it works out for any conferences that play. If those playing have issues, shutdowns, someone gets really sick then the B10 won't look so bad. If everything goes off relatively without a hitch then the B10...

P.J. Fleck discusses postponed 2020 football season with the media

I don't think he goes anywhere he can't spread his philosophy and instill his culture; no matter how big the Brinks Truck is. With all the philosophy means to him and how much he believes in it, I can't see him compromising at all as an HC. I've never met him, but I've met and seen plenty of...

Souhan: Gophers, conference led by voices of reason and safety, instead of the selfish and greedy

I'm fully 100% with your post. The sports aspect makes no sense if you allow kids back. From the academic standpoint, I'm even more on board. I had to drop out at my 4th year at a MIAC school due to a family situation, stuck in debt with no degree. I have to go back to further my career and I'm...

P.J. Fleck discusses postponed 2020 football season with the media

Just because you can afford to buy things in life; doesn't mean you WANT to buy them. Pete Caroll was Hollywood..... you really think Fleck's message meshes with Hollywood? That's a no. Michigan is meant for a Michigan man that can bring glory back the Michigan way (sarcasm).... doing it the...

Souhan: Gophers, conference led by voices of reason and safety, instead of the selfish and greedy

Before you applaud any institution for putting their communities health first.... you might want to see who is asking/requiring students to come back on campus for classes. I'm not against the season shutdown no matter how much I may or may not have cried when it happened. My question is how in...

Big Ten commissioner shoots down Nebraska’s hopes of playing outside conference this season

Living in Omaha, it was soooooo fun today listening to sports talk radio and how offended all the talking heads were over how NE is being perceived. They're taking it as a personal attack; it's great.

It's Official - The Big Ten has postponed its fall football season

Only if they do it, complete it and it's flawless.

All Things "Players opting out of the season" Thread
