What if both are independent of each other? For example, on half of his passes he could be throwing bubble screens and such behind/near the line of scrimmage, thus contributing to a high completion percentage and quicker release. But then his other 50% of his passes could be regular plays...

I *think* what the OP was suggesting was that a contract might be for $50 million, but that's only the value if the player earns every roster bonus, workout bonus, bonus for playoff wins, etc. It's next to impossible for players to earn every bonus and exercise every clause in their contracts...
