Gopher portal visits and signings

So, so far I see 3 d2 guys, one FCS guy and one dude who couldn’t see the field on a ratty MSU squad.

I love how they swing for the fences
Max Brosmer, Jack Gibbens were at smaller level schools. I'm not sure what your expectations are here. Portal season is not over yet and maybe Minnesota wants to develop their own talent and not rely on the portal?

There's two strategies a program can use with limited NIL IMO. Try to get a bunch of solid but not great transfers. Or try to bring in 3-5 higher dollar, very impactful transfers and fill the rest of the spots with low cost role players. The 2nd option is the better one IMO, especially if you're able to keep the majority of your impact players from the previous year.

The portal just opened up, I think we gotta let it play out a bit first.

I’d think they have the ability to get 6-10 higher dollar transfers.

I also agree this should be the approach.

Solidify OL & DL, improve CB then WR.

Especially since we aren't going to be one of the big boys at the table. The ones at the very top are going to set the market and then we'll adjust and have to work within our budget.

6-10 seems like a lot too me. I can’t see us getting more than one or two if it actually comes down to a bidding war.

NMSU DT Ezra Christensen offered, quite a few big name schools in on him. Led his team in sacks, hurrys and TFL's. This would be a very good get.
