I don't consider "anointing" to mean that you don't play backups. I think of "anoint" as someone being handed a position without earning it - like PJ has in his head who is going to be the starter and nothing can change his mind.
With ZA and Morgan, PJ clearly changed his mind. ZA won the job in 2018 and did not win it back from Morgan in 2019. It wasn't like Morgan lit the world on fire to finish 2018. Their stats were really similar. It was ZA's team and it became Morgan's team.I think it's pretty clear that PJ changed his mind on these two.
As for Kramer, I can't think of a single time where he should have been the starter. I would have been 100% cool with him getting run the year AK struggled.
I think there is a good argument AK was anointed but the issue (IMO) was more that we didn't bring in realistic competition for him.
As far as Brosmer, do we still consider someone to be anointed if they were really good? Isn't it more likely PJ was just right about him?
