You had to think there was a strong chance of Wittke or Pyron leaving. Sounded like Wittke was getting run with the second team based on reports. I don’t think anyone expected a huge challenge to Lindsey from any of the other qbs on the roster as far as opening day starter.

The fact Drake Lindsey was, is and will be the #1 QB come fall is no breaking news. I posted the same weeks ago. Part of that is the fact Pyron wasn't even #2. Not new news either.

The fact Pyron is transferring IS new news. And this news was what Maxy was trying to claim "he knew," when clearly he didn't.

And for the record, Maxy didn't even post in the April 15 thread.

It's not entirely surprising even though I didn't post that thought while reading the report. I'm not looking for online credit here, don't worry. He's a veteran who transferred here for the chance to play and then appeared to be splitting back up reps.

I hear that a lot but I don't know how true it is.

Annexstad won QB1 in the battle with Morgan and then Morgan overtook the spot.
Morgan ended up handing the reigns to Kaliakmanis who was the replaced by Brosmer.

He seems as willing as most coaches to make a move at the position.

I cannot think of a situation where there was a realistic/better option on the bench that didn't come in.

I don’t disagree. I’m just saying that it’s always obvious that PJ has a guy. Not even complaining if he picks the right guy which he did last year and we should all be hopeful that Lindsey is the real deal he has all of the measurable’s. I just lost count of how many times PJ was quoted the last couple of months with how fierce the quarterback competition was going to be lol.

Based on what? Wouldn’t he have given ZA the starting spot back if he had anointed him? He went out and got Brosmer as well. I get you aren’t a Morgan fan, but none of his backups have done anything at the FBS level.

Every report the last couple weeks was he was not getting a ton of snaps. It's not rocket science and didn't even need to be mentioned.

If you didn't see it coming or as a likely scenario, now that's funny.
 



I was relatively high on Pyron, especially as a backup who's seen reps in a P4 conference. I think I saw that the current MN QB room has 5 career passes thrown? That's scary, hopefully bring in a 1 yr rental who had at least seen the field in case of emergency.

It was fierce enough for 1 guy to transfer out.

I don’t think they will. For one that’s going to be a difficult find. Also they are trying to trim numbers and although they don’t have game reps Wittke and Shik at least have been in the system a while. Sounds like they’re confident enough in Wittke and Shik that they apparently were competing for the number two role ahead of Pyron, and I too was relatively high on Pyron so I guess he wasn’t as good as I imagined or Wittke and Shik are better than I imagined.
