All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Coach Fired/Hired/Retired Thread

What happened to the Arkansas State guy? Someone cannot be trusted.

Plucking a coach out of the TV studio doesn’t work very often. Steve Lavin lets us know.
Sounds like South Florida offered him a better deal.

He is the anti-Pastner. If Pastner is what they wanted, Hodgson would definitely not be. Pastner would definitely win the interview over Hodgson. Better coach? We'll see...not sure it even matters if he can recruit and NIL.

I saw a video of the Drake AD yesterday saying a team wanted to talk to McCollum during the tournament and he declined, costing him the job. I assume it was referring to Indiana, which then pivoted and hired DeVries.
I think Indiana always knew DeVries was their first choice, and McCollum always knew Iowa was his first choice. I also think DeVries knew early on this past season that he was leaving WVU, and sat out his kid for a redshirt as a result.

Philly guy who started at Penn, saw people saying this was a possibility right when he was fired.

He is s Philly guy (La Salle HS). He was a very good HS player. First went to Wake Forest as a player but transferred and graduated from Penn. His college playing career didn't live up to his HS career.

True points, I wonder who else might have come calling him if it wasn't Indiana. Like you said, probably didn't matter if he already had his mind made up, but if they were prepared to come with a strong ass offer, who knows...

Sure seems like Villanova is waiting on Willard. Why would you leave Maryland for Villanova though?

I think Willard knows in his heart that winning is easier in the Big East. Basketball gets all the money, too.
Maybe, but Maryland cares more about basketball than football too. I think they will join us in giving basketball a bigger % of the pie than most of conference.

Will be interesting who Maryland targets. Maybe they get Cronin. Still more dominoes. Get the ink dry on Niko's contract Mark.

Excellent! My alma mater. I am looking forward to some Francon and maybe a bit more success than the Quakers have had recently.
