As JJ Watt continues to dominate the NFL, I'd like to point out that he originally committed to Mason (after first committing to Central Michigan) and then switched back to Central Michigan after Mason was fired before transferring to wisconsin.

I believe he was a tight end at the time. Might've been a great TE, but I doubt Mase would've moved him to defense.

Mason also had future Michigan State All-American linebacker Greg Jones committed to Minnesota in that class.

Remind me of the story on this...didn't Brew say he didn't want him? Or did he just lose him for being...well...Brew?

James Richard Laurinaitis was lost by Mason to tOSU in 2005. Claimed it wasn't because going to play LB at tOSU would have be great. No, he said it was because after he committed to Minnesota, they didn't pay him enough attention. Jimmie, Mommy and Daddy, didn't feel loved enough. At least that's what they said publicly. Don't know if they finally owned up to the truth or not.

Watt who went to Pewaukee High School always wanted to play for the Badgers. Both his brothers played there too. He was a 2-Star recruit on Rivals and Scout, even though he had some great credentials in High School. He transferred to Wisconsin in 2008.

Don't know why he chose Central Michigan over Minnesota. Do know he wanted to be a TE and they recruited him as such.

David Gilreath was also committed here prior to Mason getting fired. Jones, Watt and Gilreath all decommited before Brewster once announced.

Devon Bishop was going to attend. After Mason was fired he went with Cal.

Brew also was down to the final two for some running back out of texas named LaMichael James. James chose Oregon and we end up with something called Kevin Whaley.

Thanks, for some reason, I thought Brew wasn't interested in him. But clearly my memory isn't as good as yours!

Memory and Google, Lady. A combination of memory and Google!

That is false. Gilreath decommitted long before Mase was fired.

Yes. He was a TE and I think he weighed about 220 when he committed to Central Michigan. He actually dropped out of Central Michigan and transferred to Wisconsin.

I was committed one time. I bluffed them and they released me back into the mainstream.
