Checking twitter, multiple reports he's been fired. Even with a 9-3 season. Should help us in bowl selection?

I'm on my phone, can't attach links..

It's official on the Husker Twitter page.

Some program is going to get a great coach, and the next coach in Lincoln won't be successful in the fans eyes.

What a delusional program.

Wow. Didn't they learn anything from Michigan? Is it time to start the Craig Bohl rumors?

That's what you get when you pad you schedule to win 9 games. Good luck getting a coach to come to your school if he has to win 10 games every year. The guy was a jerk through...perfect fit for Nebraska.

Iowa could fall further if they can Ferentz, but Nebraska needs a fresh voice, they have talent, they need grit and mental toughness. Bo's style seemed to wear them down when things didn't go well.

Just reported on the Sports Hddle . . . Big Story

Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has been fired!

Exactly. They are an delusional fanbase. We haven't had a 9 win season since 2003.

I think they said during the Iowa/Nebraska game that Pelini and Saban were the only active coaches with 6 straight 9 win seasons or something like that. Nebraska is living in the old days of college football when the parity was not nearly what it is today. Pelini has his short comings but they are going to have a tough time doing much better.

Every team that loses to Minnesota thinks they need to fire their coach.

They seem to think 11-1 will be a common occurrence or something. Those days are over I am afraid.

Florida should hire Pellini. I would be on the phone with him right now if I were them.

Part of me thinks you don't fire a 9-3 coach if you don't have a new coach pretty much lined up.

Pelini's sideline demeanor seemed to result in him losing the ability to lead his team and reflected poorly on the university. This is especially hard to take for a fanbase and university that sees themselves as the Keepers of All That Is Good in college football (see baseball: St. Louis Cardinals).

Pelini was a train wreck. That said, I doubt they'll find someone much better. Lot of big name programs this year looking for coaches. Will be very interesting to see who gets poached. Tough year to be Kansas and have to look for a coach...

That could be part of it. His act maybe became tiresome. They might be okay with 9-3 if your coach is a class act.

They are stuck in the age where all they had to beat was Oklahoma, another decent team (this role would rotate between Colorado, Okie State, and Missouri), and five tomato cans to go to the Orange Bowl. The Big Ten is a lot deeper than that.

Great fans, though. Undoubtedly the best road trip I've been to.

Well, if Kill is going to move, this would be about as good of a year for him to move as any with the prospective openings available.

I imagine Scott Frost will be a potential candidate. No matter who it is, I don't think they'll win as much as Pelini did. Tom Osborne isn't walking through that door (at least as a HC again!) and this isn't the glory days of the 90s.

I do believe that coaches that get along with the local media tend to get a longer leash than those that don't. This situation further validates that.
