Ressue blog: It's all on Kill now -- the wins and the losses

Thanks for the clarification. 1. It was just an innocent question. I don't click on the sTrib. If I was "in town" I wouldn't be 2. buying the paper either. The only things I read from that organization are what's posted on here. Your hostility towards me always surprises me. Seems like I'm a 3.villain to you because I'm not a Minnesota (fan) and just a JK fan. That's OK. Based on 4.mindset of most of your posts, I'm kinda glad you don't like me.

1. How exactly do you know about the emails he's gotten?

Innocent question huh? Gees..

2. You didn't need to buy the paper or even click on the link. The section of the column posted clearly said he responding to communications he had received. Don't doubt it either. Plenty of people around here would have no problem firing off "Don't you dare criticize Jerry!!!! e-mails. Anybody who thinks he needed to make up people with your mindset, but without your fear of newspapers, probably should think that through. Or search their memory banks. Plenty of people through they years have bragged about firing-off an e-mail or making a thin skinned comment in the comments sections.

3. A villain? You? Get ahold of yourself. Hardly, you're just a guy online who time and again has ripped Gopher fans, former Gopher coaches, the present administration etc. and make no bones about the fact that you don't give a damn about the team, you're just here to demonstrate how much you worship Jerry. Not enough to see his team play up here of course, but you seem to think he's heading for greener pastures anyway, and the sooner the better. When people downplayed the Kill to Michigan "rumor" I thought you were gonna stroke out.

4. Understood, Kill and Company are Gopher coaches to me and open to critiques. A fair number of the ones that bothered you the most, were echoed by Kill, Claeys and Limegrover in Press Conferences after the fact. You go ballistic when people post after a loss, that it was because of a lousy passing game. Then on Sunday and Tuesday Limegrover, Mitch and Kill say nearly the exact thing and how they need to get better. Don't remember you apologizing to anybody for being a _____. Didn't need or even expect it. You consider them disciples not coaches anyway and as such should be above reproach. You do realize you are calling them liars though don't you?

This whole thing written for a guy that I have zero respect for, and all because you wanted to be a "bleep"?

Please do yourself a favor put me on your "ignore list". You won't be the first.

Nicely done :)

I don't click on the Strib and don't bother with the hard copy even if it laying around and free to read. I don't plan to go near that rag until Soupcan is gone. As far as Fatrick goes, I could care less about his rants. Unless we get good news in the next couple of months, I'm just hoping next year he finally makes me a winner in the 2015 dead pool (go ahead Fatrick and eat another baker dozen of donuts, you know you want them).

See? There are plenty of people around here who could have sent an idiotic e-mail. :drink:

The column referred to Kill's first four years versus Mason's first four years.

I think mason had 2 teams better than this years team. One team that was pretty even (2005)

But only one was in his first 4 years.

Could be, but you can make a solid argument at this point in the season that only the '99 team was better. 2-3 more wins in the last 3 games (or 3 out of 4;) and this year's team could be the best one since '67. Just hope this year doesn't end like '99 or '05 did.

IF we win the next two games a reasonable person could argue this season (BIG championship game and at worst the 3rd best team in the B1G) is better than any of Mason's. Not yet though.

Oh goody. This thread has finally turned into a Kill vs Mason debate. I've been here before. I'm staying away this time...

So was the column the O.P. referred to. So you got it wrong again. At least you're consistent.

Thanks for taking the time to write so much. It means a lot to me that you often take cheap shots at me, especially since you have zero respect for me. Um, where to start...? I appreciate the advice to put you on an "ignore list," but I'm not one to bury my head in the sand. Your opinions are valid, but mostly I find I disagree with them. I think you're projecting your own emotion into my written words. I've not been close to "stroking out" and am not the type to go "ballistic." I have no desire for JK and his staff to go anywhere, unless they can find a place that supports them better and appreciates them more, especially since I have Gopher gear that I wear proudly in Michigan. I'm sorry I'm a bit financially light and haven't yet been able to afford a road trip to Minneapolis, but it's certainly on my list of things I'd love to do. Maybe I could stay at your house? I also want to apologize for anything I've written that hurt your feelings and for being a ______ (not sure what that is, but...).

I do think our passing game can improve -- and will. I'm loyal to JK, his staff, his players, and support them unabashedly. Not sure what Limegrover, Mitch and Kill said that is "nearly exactly" to lousy, but only an idiot would think improvement in any aspect of the program would be a bad thing, including facilities and financial support. My biggest problem with Ressue's blog is the subliminal suggestion that Kill and Meyer are on a level playing field and it's on JK to start beating him or he's a failure.

Thanks for taking the time.. I have no desire for JK and his staff to go anywhere, unless they can find a place that supports them better and appreciates them more, ..

Yeah, I know. The rest of your post?

Yeah, I know. The rest?

Yeah, the rest of the team, too, if they're not appreciated. For instance, ML7, who I've said might wind up being all-B1G before he's done. But, if JK leaves, I hope he doesn't bring the sniping "fans" who either have a miserable life or have somehow been mistreated so badly that they are filled with hate. There are plenty of Gopher fans on this site who didn't like the hiring of JK, who have since bought in completely. That warms my heart since when I initially came here I tried to express that given some time that's what would happen. I still have hopes that you'll climb on board.

Me too, there's always hope you can become a Gopher Fan little chance of that but still, one can hope. Oh, I was pushing for Kill before he was hired. Before Brewster's last season even started. Didn't think he be considered because of the cancer issues. But how would you know that? That was before J.K. for you.

Now, if it was known that you'd come with him? Yeah, that would have made it a tougher choice.

"But, if JK leaves"? Yes, that would be an answer to your prayers.

Sigh. I don't recall saying or even thinking I hope JK leaves Minnesota. I do think it might be a good idea to take your own advice and block me. I am a Gopher football fan and come to this forum to express my thoughts and read many interesting things posted here, including some views that oppose mine.

No you don't. You come here to hear views that agree with you, and pick fights with anyone who disagrees and question their fanhood. You're nothing but a hypocrite.

It's unfair of CoMN to put the loss on Brewster, but the rest of his post was great stuff and an extremely valid opinion. Were we a couple players away from beating OSU with all their 5-star players? I think it was more about us just not having a great game one week after playing our best game under JK.

I don't think I articulated it well. What I meant is that if you are going to write an article and for some reason need someone to blame for a loss Brewster has as much of the blame as anyone. When he left, we weren't in position to attract a coach who was famous enough to get recruits to come play for him (like Lou Holtz was) before we started winning. Without a "5-Star" coach (this is NOT an endorsement of Lou) or a program with a winning tradition those first recruiting classes were not going to be great ones, no matter how smart and hardworking our coach was. He had to prove himself in the B1G before he could get better recruiting classes. He coached up the players he was able to get to the point where they can play with OSU. Imagine if he had taken over a well-run program where the coach fled to a bigger job. Where would we be now? I would have to imagine we would have won that game. So my point is that Brewster's mess affected the recruiting classes and therefore Kill isn't as far as he would be had he taken over a program that was on a solid foundation instead of in a dark hole. I probably still didn't articulate what I was trying to say well. Oh well, I always hated English.

Feel free to post in another language. We'll get it translated. I understand the thoughts about what Brewster left behind, but I think JK and his staff have done a pretty good job of taking Brew's recruits and making them valuable. I just think it wasn't necessarily that we needed different players on the field against OSU, but rather needed the good ones we have to make a couple more plays that they are certainly capable of. And if De'Vondre's right, they'll get another crack at the Bucks in a couple of weeks.
