Let go Gophers! Close it out in the second half. I have to give credit to Tubby for using his bench and the depth of it...
 


Not a bad half overall.

We shot well from everywhere but the free throw lines. Lot of other chances that never materialized because we missed the front end.

Illinois shot horribly, except for at the FT line.
 

That is one hell of an intense first half. Up 4, damn tough game for both teams. I love it.

Good physical 1st half where the Gophers dictated the play. Sure wish they could hit freethrows as they would be up by double digits. I don't think we can expect Illinois to shoot as poorly as they did the 1st half so that means we have to finish and make our freethrows.
 


We played great defense but didn't capitalize as much as we should have...Terrible FT shooting and They are 11 for 12...Otherwise we're up 10 and coasting...I think we can do this but we have to make FT's and cash in our chances.
 

We better hope Illinois stays ice cold, otherwise we'll definitely lose. Hopefully Tubby avoids the hockey lines changes. We should also keep pushing the tempo (when our starters are in) and feeding Trevor in the post to keep them in foul trouble.
 

The Bench has been Awful tonight and I'm afraid all the talk about our depth is just talk...We have a bench but not much quality....We desperately need another competent forward to step up.

We'd be up by 9, we are 6/11 its not good but not terrible. We will be better at the stripe in the 2nd half
 



Illini shooting will improve, we've got to keep up the intensity and rebounding and knock down our FTs.

Could be huge for the second half - after Paul, their next 4 highest scorers have 2 fouls each.
 

Gopher bench 4 of our 9 fouls and zero points. ugh.
 

our D against the 3 has been great...it's the key to the game.
cant relax.. no 3's!

Exactly. Pound the paint. Go after them. Pound it, pound it, pound it.

And, the D did improve as the 1st half went on. Keep the intensity high! We can win this one!

austin H is in a zone.. no hesitation on that left wing 3 at the 12:00 mark..
he will blow up in the 2nd half.. someone needs to come up big
 


We gotta step up our defensive rebounding as well, too many times we held them to a poor shot but didn't get the rebound.

just need ill to stop getting those lucky long rebounds off missed 3's..

Ill lazy getting back on D... we need to keep pushing it

That combined with the head shot on Coleman when he went up for the dunk will make a close loss extremely painful.

I would like to see opponents 3pt shooting percentage on average and then Compare it to how the the Gophers defend the three and what that percentage is. The way they fly at shooters and the speed and length must make it difficult. I have a feeling they alter shots and opponents have a difficult time. Possessions!

Yeah that was horrible - there's no way the all was out of his hand before the contact.
 

What if this game comes down to the phantom 2 PTs off the charge?! I would snap.
