Don't care if it is totally a copy cat. We have Row the Boat, not to start the game, but at the end of halftime when Goldy rows. Time to adopt the Norway chant and unison rowing after halftime. Imitation is a form of flattery.

That's the whole point of Goldy rowing at the end of half. Just no one participates ☹️

I know it's cheesy, but they have been trying for years to get people to Row with Goldy. Thought maybe this World Cup stuff would inspire the halftime break , Row. Music for it could be better.

The row with Goldy is fun but it happens right after other things happen and everyone is settling in for more football.

I don’t think many people think they want anyone more than the students to get into it as Goldy is down there.

I think it’s a fun bit and is working well enough.

The Vikings already stole the skol chant from the Iceland national team so why not!

Will always remember Auburn game where in the last minute or so of THE DRIVE a spontaneous "ROW...ROW...ROW..." cheer started in the Gophers half of the stadium. It was glorious and we knew the RTB culture had stuck and would stay from there.

The Vikings already copied the Skol chant and clap from Iceland, so what’s one more appropriation for Minnesota’s football teams?
But... but... cultural appropriation is exploitation and oppression. We will need to get formal documentation from the Norwegian Council of Elders, typed in triplicate using responsibly sourced carbon paper. Then we will need an approved announcement of allowance to be read over the public address system, and scrolled on the bottom of video broadcasts, just before we all do it in unison to show our fair-mindedness and community-orientation. :banghead:

We could use some ‘crank’ jokes in the big screen. Like crank it up.

Is it exploitation if white descendents on Scandinavians are copying current white Scandinavians? Not sure where that registers on the woke scale?

That falls under the woke eugenics assumption clause. We could mail you a copy of it, but the mimeograph is being repaired. 🤡

Maybe it's because it's a bad idea? It's for the team, not for the fans.

We got PJ's personal brand off the uniforms (almost). Let's not bring it into other areas.

Don’t forget the land acknowledgment at the end, bucko 😤😤

We already have the Tribal Nations Plaza so that base is permanently covered....
Like the Land O' Lakes redesign (which doesn't bother me), but of course the design kept the land and got rid of the Indian.

This cheer is just the skol chant with rowing instead of clapping
This. They just stole Iceland's Skol chant that the Vikings then stole. Plus, I am always confused, if we are supposed to row the boat, why is a canoe paddle the symbol of it? It should be a pari of oars on the walls of TCF Bank Stadium. (oops...Huntington)

Please don’t steal this from the Norwegians. As others have stated the Vikings stole the thunderclap from Iceland and you just know they will steal this chant too.

Be original for once and come up with something unique. Not sure if the fans already sing “I’m alright” from Caddyshack at the football games or “Anyway you want it” but please don’t be copycats.

It makes me cringe when all the other stadiums try to steal “Jump Around” from Bucky. Let’s just figure something out that’s unique. And then if the Gophers do steal this what happens when PJ leaves? We built a tradition around what?

As a Finn, the last thing I would ever do is copy a Norwegian. 😁

I've wanted Prince's "Lets Go Crazy" as the song between 3rd and 4th quarter for over a decade. I loved it when the Wild had it as their goal song. Its much better than "Do the Gopher"

They showed a video of Spanish fans doing it in bar or game watch party today in Madrid

I can't believe this song sat under our noses for decades as Minnesota sports fans and it took Prince's death for us to notice it as the perfect sports celebration song
