All Things Players Coming and Going (26-27 Off-Season)

Would've loved him over Loftus or Lofgren...

I mean you decommit players like that if boumedienne says yes and you don’t flinch. They also technically still have room on the blue line

He's not gonna decommit guys that committed in the last week.

Assuming Begley out or not counting to roster:
Boumedienne + Smith = Good seal of D
Top WHL guy + Boumedienne = Great seal of D
Top WHL guy + Smith = Amazing seal on D

I don't think he will because he has no reason to (because we're not full)

If you're in this business as it exists right now, then yes you do if you need the space. Neither was on the team last week. They will have lost nothing. Same as none of us sitting here would hold it against them if they got a bag thrown at them and left. The game has changed too dramatically

On that note, Kieran Dervin (vancouver 3rd rounder) has flipped to Michigan from PSU

And on your listing, yeah I think that's a fair assessment of the "extra prospects" coming in on D. With above, it sure doesn't look like Michigan is thinking Harper is coming in so this story is very bizarre with him decommitting unless its just he wants his options for the next 2 years open

If he doesn't play college hockey next year, the "play with his brother" excuse will be used for eternity for another lost first rounder.

Michigan vs MSU games are gonna be insane.

I'm hoping Larson has some magic up his sleeve and we add a big timer in May or June other than Smith(who I'm really hoping we land).

Kinda seems like it'll just be Smith, if even that.

Based off what? Good amount of Canadian guys didn’t announce anything until May last year. Portal has a week and a half left. I’d assume he understands he probably needs another center.

If they add Tarin Smith, the defense will be in good shape. Better than I expected since I didn’t think Murr was actually coming. Much more concerned about center now

I agree, if we land Smith I'm 100% ready to roll with Murr, Smith, Whipple, Henricks, Rombach, Loftus, and Lofgren. Really hoping for a center.

Boumedienne rumored to be going to Ohio State. Odd to leave BU for them… really wondering what’s going on over there.

Especially when you get divas like Boisvert on your roster. Have also heard some stuff about Cole Hutson in that sense.
BU locker room sounds like poison this year. seemed like an awful lot of guys out for themselves. Would say I feel bad for Pandolfo, but he did it to himself recruiting that way.

Olivier Houde out of Lindenwood is expected to enter the portal (freshman). Anyone know if he plays center or not? 28 points in 30 games

Hmm so I guess not really. Jacob Fletcher from Lindenwood also in portal with 25 points in 28 games. Not sure what he plays either.
played center. won 46% of his draws (2nd highest number of draws taken on his team).

no interest in either personally. would expect similar numbers from say a Clark or Pahlsson if he was playing at Lindenwood

We’re looking for 1C and 2C not depth centers which we just got rid of.
Yes I understand that, but I mean would you rather have Harris on the roster or remove him for a player of that ilk at 4C? Not saying we need them or that they’d even be a good fit in that role but was just curious.

I would take 99% of the transfer portal over Harris. I have no idea why he's in the roster unless he's an exempt player and will be the 16th forward.

I mean the players currently on our roster who are for sure centers are Ludtke and maybe B Cullen. Then you have a handful of “kind of” centers like Mooney, Humphreys, Moe. Yes priority is 1C but it wouldn’t hurt to get another guy who can play center in the bottom of the lineup too. Ludtke is the only true center in the lineup, otherwise you’d need to develop some guys into one.

Mason Moe can be 4C
Ludkte 3C
Neither should sniff top two line center duty.

How he figures this out will determine if this team has any chance to make the tournament.

agree with this. I don't like Mooney playing down the middle personally (just a really big ask in a fast and physical B10 and I don't see that being his position at the next level because it only gets bigger and faster). Know Moe played center for Madison and I'd say his offensive upside is top 6 caliber, but he'd be a pretty big unknown to throw into that role. Humphreys is not a center. He played 10 games with Michigan and took 29 draws and he hasn't been playing center this year. I know it's where he was projected when drafted, but that he's been moved away from center, I don't see how one could assume he could walk in and do it at a high college level instantly
