All Things 2025-2026 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

Point taken and I stand by theorem on Finch being horrible at developing players/using the bench.

BTW - Luke Garza says hi from Boston
16.6 minutes
7.8 points
4.2 boards
43.8% from 3

All he needed was a real chance by a good coach who knows how to use him correctly🤷‍♂️.
Luka could always shoot and he always hustled. The reason he was (and is) borderline unplayable unless someone is hurt is that he is molasses. He gets killed on defense.

In terms of Finch not developing young players, who has left during his tenure and made him look bad? (NAW doesn't count. His game was established here.)

Luka’s +/- is 73 this season, per Stat Muse, link below. A good coach figures out how to maximize a player’s positives and minimize his negatives / thst ain’t Finch, Micah🤠

This would be because of expansion, right?
Correct. Based on all the rumors, LV and SEA will get franchises in the WC and MIN or MEM would move to the EC. MEM is farther east but MIN has been pushing hard behind the scenes to get the nod.

They would cut way back on air/travel expenses and have far fewer 9:00pm starts for local viewers.

So a few years out still

Finch finished the game with Naz last night instead of Randle. Good decision. Rudy out for the next game, maybe a mixed blessing and should get JB more minutes.

Pistons with the best winning percentage in the NBA now. Bickerstaff's team has had just two 2 game losing streaks. That's it. Otherwise single game losses.

I’m getting really tired of seeing Randle not get back on defense.
It seems to depend on his mood.

Embid a game time decision. He’s probably always a game time decision.
Cleveland at OKC early today. Cavs on a hot streak.

Not a player on this team who can guard the perimeter.

Oh, wait, there is maxey being doubled again and going by them like they aren't even there.

WOOF

Pistons doing their best to be physical against the Spurs. Stewart still out on suspension.

Spurs by 2 at the half.

Wemby (17 rebounds, 6 blocks and caused so much grief on other shots) and Vassell (7-11 from 3) too much for the Pistons. (Cunningham with 36 assists in the last 3 games.)

Everyone looks to be available for the Wolves.
Sharpe and Avdija out for the Trail Blazers.

Randle in early foul trouble. Maybe that’s a good thing.

Another lackluster effort.
I don’t entirely agree. Portland has always been a tough road win. I’m happy to take the W and get out of there.
This team is so damn confounding. They almost revel in FAFO losses against inferior or depleted teams at home and then grind out mentally tough wins on the road.
