He announced his engagement to another woman just 3 days before being arrested.
BYU has expelled prominent players for having consensual activities, I normally would agree with you, but they do not seem to play around with this stuff.I'm usually a bit skeptical when an administration comes out quickly with an emphatic statement of no prior knowledge.
For better or worse, they have a line in the sand. Gotta give em credit for being principledBYU has expelled prominent players for having consensual activities, I normally would agree with you, but they do not seem to play around with this stuff.
I'd like to think everyone, everywhere would know first degree felony rape is wrong. You’d think that out of anyone, BYU players would know to keep it in their pants. Takes much much less than this to break their honor code and screw up your career.
They have a line in the sand? First degree felony rape? For better or worse, they have a line in the sand. Gotta give em credit for being principled
"Keeping it in your pants" is BYU's line in the sand, regardless of what any of us think.I'd like to think everyone, everywhere would know first degree felony rape is wrong.
This has nothing to do with "keeping it in their pants." Nor breaking any BYU honor code.
Or, FFS, "screwing up his career."
It's felony first degree rape.
Sheesh

I think history has shown that no matter what the trappings people are still people… and sometimes those trappings indicate quite the opposite….
I remember during the Baylor abuse scandal that their school “investigators” said they assumed they wouldn’t have much to do “because it’s a religious school”…![]()
Never said it wasn’t, I agreeI'd like to think everyone, everywhere would know first degree felony rape is wrong.

Just to be clear.....this isn't an honor code issue, it is a criminal one. Very different then the Ratzlaff situation. You’d think that out of anyone, BYU players would know to keep it in their pants. Takes much much less than this to break their honor code and screw up your career.
How about waiting until they know the truth or not before punishing him?If true hang em.
That's not what he was referring to. He was referring to consistently holding their players to a standard. The post @mngg11 was referring to even had "consensual activities" in it.They have a line in the sand? First degree felony rape?
Sheesh
I'd like to think this has nothing to do with consensual activities or lines in the proverbial sand. Why did Loblaw even bring it up?That's not what he was referring to. He was referring to consistently holding their players to a standard. The post @mngg11 was referring to even had "consensual activities" in it.
Do you always try and misinterpret posts so you can bitch and complain? Cuz you're very good at it.
Makes me wonder how Jim McMahon survived that placeBYU has expelled prominent players for having consensual activities, I normally would agree with you, but they do not seem to play around with this stuff.
BYU's isn't Bob Jones University, but they are strict on this stuff and we've seen colleges that would side with the athlete (cough, cough, Baylor) in instances like this one. Yes, this goes beyond BYU's code of conduct because of its in the criminal justice system.BYU has expelled prominent players for having consensual activities, I normally would agree with you, but they do not seem to play around with this stuff.
