***OFFICIAL MARYLAND AT MINNESOTA SUPER BOWL SUNDAY IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

This is our future until we develop an offense that at least attempts to get some points in the paint, and perhaps draw some fouls.
I'm pretty sure that the offense to go in the paint is developed, we just don't have the guys that can play above the rim to do it. Once we do it will make life for the shooters a lot easier.

We are who we are. A quality team that can’t separate during a game due to the number of players we play. Every game is the same. We can’t afford off games by anyone.

Women’s best player (GG) was 0-10 and didn’t score. They still won by 11 because they are deeper.

Women’s best player GG was 0-10 and zero pints but they are deep enough to still win by 11.

I watched that game today. That game set basketball back 80 years.

I can’t stand the manufactured hate some of these guys have. He left. Carrington left. They act like they were cut or traded away.
Agree but it also goes both ways. I am sure fans were fans chirping at him all game as well. It gets pretty dumb at times.

At the same time I was at the Battle game when he came back and it was a ton of fun booing him all game so what do I know :)

14 three-pointers at home against Maryland and you somehow lose the game. What a pathetic goddamn day.

Crowd awful. No students. Felt it the second I walked in. Fucking awful from everyone involved.

Yup, it just had that uninspired feel the whole game. Light crowd, no students, alumni band. Combine it with the fact that both teams were content running down the shot clock to under 5 seconds every possession, it was just a boring game.

I was there. Disappointed. It slipped away. Not a moral victory game to me even though they are short on players I concede.

There is no end to the theater of the absurd which is Gopher basketball. Coit entering today was averaging away about 13 points a game and shooting 28% on threes. You wouid think the Carrington eruption would have appeased the Minnesota-hating basketball gods for the season for tormenting the faithful at Williams Arena.

Sorry, the “we don’t have enough players” excuse doesn’t cut it with me. We had the same roster today that we had 3 days ago when we beat the #10 team in the country. It’s not the players, it’s how they play.

WBB will make the NCAA tournament, one hope. But we know Minnesota sports. Their shooting disappears in stretches. They lost their 6th man to an injury to start the season.

No excuses but the squad must be operating on fumes this time of year, especially at end of games. Just couldn’t get a few points when they needed it.

The Gophs are #357 in pace out of 365. That is a conscious choice to try and preserve the energy of a short rotation (btw, CSU was in the high 200s under Niko, so he already coaches deliberate pace, but not this deliberate). The upside of that is that it tends to keep you in ballgames against anyone, as long as you can be reasonably efficient on both ends, The downside is that it keeps the other team in it, too, with just a little bit of faltering. You can't afford bad possessions because there's fewer of them.
