***OFFICIAL MARYLAND AT MINNESOTA SUPER BOWL SUNDAY IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

We are who we are. A quality team that can’t separate during a game due to the number of players we play. Every game is the same. We can’t afford off games by anyone.

Women’s best player (GG) was 0-10 and didn’t score. They still won by 11 because they are deeper.
Sadly, GG was 0-16 today which for a player who shoots around 50% is unbelievable. But ur point is well taken they have more scoring options. I think Nico will be successful here.

Agree but it also goes both ways. I am sure fans were fans chirping at him all game as well. It gets pretty dumb at times.

At the same time I was at the Battle game when he came back and it was a ton of fun booing him all game so what do I know :)
But that at least makes sense. He left the program.

There is no end to the theater of the absurd which is Gopher basketball. Coit entering today was averaging away about 13 points a game and shooting 28% on threes. You wouid think the Carrington eruption would have appeased the Minnesota-hating basketball gods for the season for tormenting the faithful at Williams Arena.
Coit is shooting 37% from three this season. He’s hot and cold but can really get it going. He’s had a couple of 40 point games and several other 30 point games. Coit getting hot is the only way Maryland could beat Minnesota.

Is tough playing with a short rotation. Illinois only plays seven guys until Boswell gets back.

The Gophs are #357 in pace out of 365. That is a conscious choice to try and preserve the energy of a short rotation (btw, CSU was in the high 200s under Niko, so he already coaches deliberate pace, but not this deliberate). The upside of that is that it tends to keep you in ballgames against anyone, as long as you can be reasonably efficient on both ends, The downside is that it keeps the other team in it, too, with just a little bit of faltering. You can't afford bad possessions because there's fewer of them.
That's good information/explanation, I agree.
Now, explain how Medved can get the team fired up for the ranked teams but they come out 'flat' against the lesser teams. He has to be some part of that.

Happens all the time in sports.....frustrating as hell but definitely not anything unique to Medved or Minnesota sports.
