Fuck
I only watched half the games and didn’t think he was all that great. His freshman year he was awesome. If true, I just didn’t seem to me like he was having as much fun this year.
As another guy mentioned above, it’s gross to get pissed pounded by 40 3 times and squeak by shitty teams like Purdue in Michigan State. Enjoyed the hell out of his freshman year and happy we had that. This is why I am starting to despise college sports. We did everything right short of making the playoff. I get it from the kids perspective, teams like TTU ORE OSU MIA just have unlimited funds so it's hard to say no. I like my job but if I could get 2x-3x to leave, I'd do it. Its just gross
Priorities can change. He has one more year of college football and doesn’t want to play Nee Mexico in the rate bowl.I find it odd he turned down OSU in the first place if this was his main priority.
Didn’t the previous highest paid safety of all time in NFL come from Gophers?Clearly tons of better schools to get placed in the nfl as a safety
Miami to be re-united with Heatherman or OSU.My guess is Indiana
This.Well… we suddenly have a million extra dollars to play around with now. Let’s take advantage of that
Maybe so, but I bet he isn’t going to be making less money wherever it is he ends up.Priorities can change. He has one more year of college football and doesn’t want to play Nee Mexico in the rate bowl.
Are you sure he could beat out the current safeties on those teams?Miami to be re-united with Heatherman or OSU.
I wouldn't assume he's a 1st rounder. He wouldn't be this year. He's a first round talent but not sure if he is one if he stays here.
After this year I would say Anthony Smith is closer to being a 1st rounder than KoiI wouldn't assume he's a 1st rounder. He wouldn't be this year.
Seriously? This is the straw that breaks the camels back? Sure we can use more NIL, but this specifically isn't a Mark Coyle issue. They could probably match the NIL $$ if they really wanted to, but it wouldn't be a smart allocation of $$.And with that think I'm done attending any games til Coyle and whoever the current female president is are gone
Keeping Drake and Smith was bigger than keeping Koi.After this year I would say Anthony Smith is closer to being a 1st rounder than Koi
That’s a good point. Perich is probably off to the nfl after next year if he has another solid year.If he explores his options and comes back, great.
If he doesn't then we can use that money for OL or DT.
It's a loss and it's unfortunate but I still like our outlook for next year. Smith coming back was unexpected and a bigger impact IMHO
He can enjoy losing to Louisville instead.Eh I don’t see it as much as money. I see it as he wants to compete at the highest level. Getting piped by 40 is not a good time
Why would he have played in the bowl game? Makes zero sense to play in the prestigious Rate Bow if you’re planning on transferring…I knew something was up in the Bowl game with him. When he was tossing the ball to officials, it was like he was throwing the ball into PJ'S face.
The # of players who have entered the portal and then gone back to their original team is virtually 0.This sucks. I hope he comes back, but this feels like a "we can't have nice things" moment.
He’s left option to come back. He was frustrated because he knew it was an opportunity to showcase skills.I knew something was up in the Bowl game with him. When he was tossing the ball to officials, it was like he was throwing the ball into PJ'S face.
Who knows, one last go around with the fellas? Even though I didn’t think he had as much fun this year and as last playing football is fun.Why would he have played in the bowl game? Makes zero sense to play in the prestigious Rate Bow if you’re planning on transferring…
I wouldn’t say it’s virtually zero, but I don’t like our odds in this case. Maybe 10% chance at best, just my gut feeling. Emmet Johnson is an example of someone who entered and then stayed with Nebraska. It happens a fair bit.The # of players who have entered the portal and then gone back to their original team is virtually 0.
