Offensively he is doing fine. Defensively he is slow footed and will need help.Seems like Bobby Durkin has elevated his play into a starting role ready for the B1G conference regular season. A welcome development for sure.![]()
They might have to play a lot of zone defense in the Big Ten. We just don't have the bodies to play man D in conference.Offensively he is doing fine. Defensively he is slow footed and will need help.
With all the injuries I am thankful Durkin is here.

I would add that he makes good reads on when he should cut back door as wellI think what we're seeing from him now is who he is and has been. It just took him a little time to find his legs at his new home.
He fits well with this starting lineup as the designated three-point shooter off the pass, a mid-range jump shooter on occasion, and a very reliable free throw shooter. He's a decent passer too. When it comes to rebounding and defense, he's at least adequate.
If I had to pick a former Gopher player he resembles, I'd say Joey King
He's our 2nd best cutter and he's a pretty good passer too. Obviously slow-footed, but he makes smart offensive plays.I would add that he makes good reads on when he should cut back door as well
I just don't recall but want to take a stab at 4 of them. I feel confident that Smith was on the roster but not sure that he started. With our limited roster options this year, it got thinking about the 1986 "Iron Five" squad.
Who can name the 5 starters without cheating? I got 4 of 5
Not a bad comp, Durkin is a better shooter I'd say though (quicker release) and maybe a slightly better athlete. If I had to pick a former Gopher player he resembles, I'd say Joey King
iirc. marc wilson, and holmgren was the benchI just don't recall but want to take a stab at 4 of them. I feel confident that Smith was on the roster but not sure that he started.
Shasky
Gaffney
Tim Hanson
Kelvin Smith

I'd say better than decent. His passing is very underrated.I think what we're seeing from him now is who he is and has been. It just took him a little time to find his legs at his new home.
