All Things 2025 Playoffs and Bowl Thread

If OSU had a QB they’d win. Not a fan of Sayin.

There’s something about the pace/rythm he plays at that bothers me. I don’t like how slowly he gets the ball out. Also, his lack of mobility and cement feet makes Tanner Morgan look like Louisville Lamar Jackson
It does seem like he takes a long time to process and get the ball out, which normally isn’t an issue for OSU. But when that OL is facing a ferocious pass rush like the last two games against IU and Miami, and he can’t escape it with his legs, he’s in trouble.

It almost seemed like he'd never seen pressure before. Day didn't help by calling so many pass plays early in the first half when they needed to be running right at Miami (which worked in the second half).

Side note: Miami is tough as nails physically on both sides of the ball but limited offensively. They could win it all or get ass kicked in upcoming games if they happen to start slow.

Sayin is amazing at his role and I think he is true freshman.

To Coach Fleck's credit Miami's Defensive Coordinator Corey Heatherman would be an apple off his coaching staff tree. Miami is getting their money's worth with that hire.

This also does tend to indict the dropoff this year in Minnesota's defensive performance to a dropoff in coaching acumen. This however is spilled milk at this point in time and we'll just see what 2026 has in store for our beloved Golden Defense for the Gophers.

I agree. First two rounds at higher seed.

Makes a ton of sense to have CFB season end on NYD. I agree with it.

As far as all Saturdays in December belonging to CFB, that would require an update to the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961. That act essentially prohibits NFL games being played on Saturday, but only until the 2nd Sat in December. You'd have to push that to include all of Dec, and probably Jan 1 as well for years when that lands on a Sat.

Start season on Week 0. End conf championship games. Four rounds of playoff in Dec.

Same age and mobility of MN Qb, just Sayin’.

I don’t think you can put it totally on coaching. The team this year did not have the depth of talent of the Heatherman year and the defense played really well more often than not.
The worst games were when corners were out and we got destroyed with backups in the game.

I don’t think Collins did a good job adjusting to his lack of depth but I don’t think Heatherman would’ve been as good this year as he was last year all else being equal.

Teams with byes are also 0-5 now in the current format.
Every single team got a bye.
Thats the difference

A bye is helpful if you get it.
But the round of 12 teams had a bye. Then a game. Then another 12 days.

The teams that got a “bye” actually got a triple bye. (3 weeks)

Miami said we are not going to play scared. Maybe the Gophers can watch this before the next time they play tOSU, Oregon and Iowa. They punched them in the face and said “yep they bleed too”.
You are not wrong but it does help when the team you are fielding against the likes of Ohio State and Oregon has similar caliber athletes. Miami was the underdog but it isn't like they are some Cinderella story.

He was under significant duress. Generally, he’s a very good passer

Cal game? Inexperience?
