All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Fun Factoids from yesterday’s drubbing

The offense took over with 7:53 left in regulation and ran out the clock, only the 42nd time an NFL team has expired the final 7:30 or more while leading since 2000, counting playoffs.

First time DC has been shutout since 2019

For all you draftniks, The Athletic has us projected to be tenth in the draft as of Monday, December 9. We also still have less than 1% chance to make the playoffs.

Another Fun Factoid from yesterday's drubbing:

The Vikings were the first team to follow up being shut out by shutting out their opponent since the Denver Broncos in weeks 3 & 4 of 1992. They followed up a 30-0 loss to Philly with a 12-0 shutout of Cleveland.

Interesting, I was wondering about that anomaly. I figured it would be rare, not necessarily 30+ yrs though.

It’s projected, not the order as of 12/9.

My bad.
I noticed the Cincy/MIN switch and just assumed they were projecting the Bengals to finish better than us. Looking at the garbage in front of us, it's unlikely that we move up much if any.

The NYG and WAS should shut down their QBs the rest of the way, not just to help facilitate the "tank", but to help protect their investments. Those two (2) teams have the best chance of improving next season.

BOO!! Boo this man!!!

I want the Giants (and to some extent WAS) to win to help the Raiders move up the draft board even higher (and the Cardinals!). Yes, for sure, Daniels shouldn't play again. Not sure about Dart though.

Giants-Vikings and Giants-Raiders will go a long way towards shaking out the top several spots in the draft.

So ... we crush Washington and the Giants, in meaningless wins that will cost us what ... 4, 5, 6, more? draft spots?

Probably lose to Cowboys in a game the fans would actually care about us winning.

Get crushed at home by Lions and Packers to finish out the year with a sour taste in our mouths while not gaining any draft spots.

That sound like the plan?

Having JJM play well helps the team in the future much more than picking a little bit later. I'm fine if they win some games if it mean he's playing better.

This is what the Vikings need to have happen to make the playoffs including us winning out. Just throwing it out there.

  • Browns beat Bears — 2% chance Vikings make the playoffs
  • Rams beat Lions — 3% chance Vikings make the playoffs
Here's the help they need in Week 16:

  • Packers beat Bears — 6% chance Vikings make the playoffs
  • Steelers beat Lions — 19% chance Vikings make the playoffs
Here's the help they need in Week 17:

  • Commanders beat Cowboys — 24% chance Vikings make the playoffs
  • Seahawks beat Panthers — 25% chance Vikings make the playoffs
  • 49ers beat Bears — 49% chance Vikings make the playoffs
Here's the help they need in Week 18:

  • Lions beat Bears — 81% chance Vikings make the playoffs

Thank you - the dreams alive - Love it.

Stranger things have happened🤷‍♂️

Love to see this, but it would probably explain some of why Jackson had one of the lowest PFF grades on the team yesterday. He's going to be a good one though

What a wonderful day if you still have SEA left in your Survivor Pool.

It doesn't just demolish IND's playoff hopes this year but also for next year, too. Jones is also a FA after the year so this injury complicates things for everyone involved.

"The Indianapolis Colts will work out retired quarterback Phillip Rivers on Tuesday, sources confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday."

Nothing like one (1) catch on his only target for four (4) yards to really recapture the "love of the game".

Meh... Don't really care what he said in that scenario; most folks are going to try to say something positive about being in their new environment, get the fanbase at least somewhat excited about him being there. I doubt Vikings fans remember that a month or two from now, much less beyond that. He gave everything he had when he wore the purple, one of the great stories in team lore

I won't remember it tomorrow.

Just a silly comment from a guy throwing shade at the team that wasted two (2) draft picks to acquire him and then graciously granted his release so he could sign with a potential playoff team.
