My argument:Far be it from me to defend Bama, but they beat the number three team in the regular season. Their resume is better than ND. (I dislike ND as well.)
Why do I need to see sec or big ten team #5?ESPN shills saying no group of 5 team should make it in the future is dumb. I agree having both JMU and Tulane in over some other teams is a little much. But a spot should be reserved each year for a team from one of those leagues. The way the game is organized right now and the bias in rankings would make it nearly impossible for them to make it in the future.
Disagree.Far be it from me to defend Bama, but they beat the number three team in the regular season. Their resume is better than ND. (I dislike ND as well.)
Disagree.
Notre dame lost close to two top 10 teams and beat everyone else
Bama lost 3 times including their best win beating them by 21 and Florida state beating them by multiple scores.
Florida state 4-7 in games against teams that aren’t bama
By what? They’re behind nd in SP+, FPI, efficiency, and game control. They’re ahead in SOR and that’s about itFar be it from me to defend Bama, but they beat the number three team in the regular season. Their resume is better than ND. (I dislike ND as well.)
Honestly I would rank Texas over bamaYeah I’d rather see what the Domers can do than see this awful Bama squad again.
Alabama put up -3 rushing yards yesterday.Yeah I’d rather see what the Domers can do than see this awful Bama squad again.
They beat four ranked teams, Georgia, Vandy, Tennessee and Mizzou. ND beat two. USC and Pitt, and Pitt was barely ranked (like Minnesota beating Nebraska). Their SOS was just better.By what? They’re behind nd in SP+, FPI, efficiency, and game control. They’re ahead in SOR and that’s about it
You’d prefer duke? Or just all at large bidsIts a joke both james madison and tulane are in
TN isn’t rankedThey beat four ranked teams, Georgia, Vandy, Tennessee and Mizzou. ND beat two. USC and Pitt, and Pitt was barely ranked (like Minnesota beating Nebraska). Their SOS was just better.
I guess you need to read up on how teams qualified this year. Its a joke both james madison and tulane are in
They were 11 at the time.TN isn’t ranked
Missouri and Tennessee combined to beat zero teams with winning records this year
The best teams, lets be real tulane and james madison have 0 chance of winning it all. I am fine with 1 non p4 school its a fun story but there should never be 2You’d prefer duke? Or just all at large bids
I did, they should change it thats why its a joke. James Madison would be lucky to win 3 big ten gamesI guess you need to read up on how teams qualified this year.
Unfortunately until expanded and more auto bids, this is issue every year.Alabamas case to be in is they beat georgia
Does Georgia beating the hell out of them at the end of the season change the value of them beating Georgia earlier?
Alabama missed the CFP on 2024, also with 3 losses. They should just rename the CFP to become the "Bama-ESPN Invitational Tourney". No matter how bad Bama is, ESPN will make sure they'll always get a slot.
That would be like saying bamas Loss to fsu was fine because they were ranked at points. Citing being ranked in the ap is just ridiculous. Joy is we have next to no idea how the middle of the packs compare to each other consistently across conferences. We just think they’re better because recruiting services rank their classes higher and espn tells you they areThey were 11 at the time.
Ultimately, I don't care that much between Bama and ND. Both are among my least favorite teams in the country with obnoxious, entitled fan bases.
I’m still a proponent that of they’re going to try to say we won’t punish for title games they just lock the rankings prior and then just autobids can get in and spoil. ND somehow went from in to out despite neither Miami or ND playingUnfortunately until expanded and more auto bids, this is issue every year.
BYU was beat soundly by same team twice, but beat everyone else.
Alabama split with Georgia with a win at Georgia
Miami won H2H over Notre Dame.
I think they ended up with best bracket they could.
They have to change rules which they will.ND a top 5 teams in country easily. Having both Tulane and JMU in over them is silly
Tulane and JMU being in the CFP is one of the few good things about it.ND a top 5 teams in country easily. Having both Tulane and JMU in over them is silly
top 5 is an interesting take when they're clearly not as good as the top 4 and lost to A&M h2h plus lost another game.ND a top 5 teams in country easily. Having both Tulane and JMU in over them is silly
Correct. Never understood that FBS conferences shouldn’t be included. It’s the only sport that is done that way.Tulane and JMU being in the CFP is one of the few good things about it.
More of that, less handing spots to the Notre Dames of the world simply because of their name.
