Wild that a non top 25 team could make the playoffs. FWIW, I’m a fan of conference champs being rewarded, but there will be A LOT of noise when Memphis gets in over a SEC school.

I would simply get a formula (like the BCS).
Half an aggregation of computer polls half the committee rankings.

Any conference champ in the top 25 gets and auto bid
Any conference champ not in the top 25 doesn’t…and converts to another at large.
Seems pretty simple
