Jett Walker flips to MN

Former WI coach Bob Bostad is the recruiter at Indiana that has ties to this area.
Did Wisconsin not offer? Incredible to not offer a home town kid when two superior programs in your conference offer him.

Wisconsin Coach 1: "Should we offer this kid?"

Wisconsin Coach 2: "Who would want to come here anymore?"

Wisconsin Coach 1: "Yeah ...."

Seriously though sometimes kids tell teams no straight up and everyone moves on.

While class rankings at least provide some chat bait - portal success is as good, if not better, indicator of class potential

How are we going to move to the upper echelon or at least occasionally beat them if we have second level recruits???

Answer… we’re not. PJ‘s recruiting is going backwards not forward.
Yes we need to recruit at Nebraska’s level ! Otherwise we will never win a game! Seriously, is it possible that today there are GHers who are completely blissfully unaware that today a coach recruits the best players, including possible role players (like a power back we haven’t had for a while), and the best development prospects (who might not be highly rated) that the team and cooperative’s school and NIL budget can afford? Are there people who criticize their own child for purchasing a nice home that the child can afford (in a stretch) because the hold somehow didn’t buy a $5M home on the child’s average person’s salary? 🤯

Well we're clearly not as smart as you are so please tell us who you would hire instead of PJ Fleck as coach and how many millions you donate in NIL money

Please tell me, why would a 5 star recruit want to come to MN?
In today’s landscape, I think there are four reasons high level players choose a school (order depends on a recruit’s needs):
1. Coaching - They want to get better to get drafted.
2. NIL - money is huge.
3. Winning team - The best want a shot at a championship.
4. Facilities - No dumps for the elite.

Minnesota has the facilities, just okay for winning, a tad short on coaching, and short on NIL.

I think culture is icing on the cake. If we’re short on all of the above, RTB doesn’t mean squat for fielding a top tier team. But I do love that Fleck wants to turn out quality young men.

Playing time is a huge factor for some.
