The Gophers have 4 commitments and all are 4 star. Think about it.
 



Zaide Penner (Fargo kid), Dman to UND. not really on draft boards much of anywhere but he's local for them.

kind of an interesting quote from him as seems rather lightly recruited
Penner received interest from other NCAA programs, but didn't extensively explore them. "UND was my No. 1 choice," he said. "If that didn't work out, I wasn't too picky."

5 star Ryland Rooney to uw. Not sure if he really deserves 5 stars cuz his skating looked brutal when I saw it but there's definitely a good player there.

Waiting on Fitzhenry and Schneider if the Gophers want to make a good to very good class a great one.

was really good offensively at the Hlinka Cup this year. Believe he's a 2027 draft eligible kid so will be interesting to see how he looks in the O (signed with Saginaw).

Maybe he'll have a chat with Fitzhenry about how nice it would be to be teammates again in the future.

Interesting his brother is a Michigan commit. Wonder if that offer is off the table now given Levi looks the better of the 2 of them.
 

Hopefully not Matthew Grimes 2.0. We're going to see very quickly how he compares to high level peers now.

Sure Michigan will bail on the brother. Gophers better not have promised to take him as part of a package deal.

can't imagine there's any room given you go Thomas-Mittelstadt out next year, Grimes and likely Phillips in with the brother i'm sure looking at coming in somewhere as a 20 year old next year.

Saint Thomas should be calling kids like that asap. The parents would love to come up and see both kids play over a weekend.

the fact they flipped brooks when they pulled wyatt would make it, to me, exceedingly weird if Joey chose to go elsewhere. Particularly given how family oriented the Cullens have been to this point in what they've done and said, particularly when there's the chance all 3 of them could play together given timing of when they'd hit campus and that Brooks will be a 4 year guy in all likelihood

Recruit updates

Harper with 10pts in 11 games up in the O, so good start for him
Kvas with 16pts in 11 games in the W; really seems like this year should help him a lot
Grimes with 6 pts in 10 games; well above his clip from last year contributing offensively
Phillips seems like a penalty machine with over 5PIM a game so far; definitely happy he is playing 1 (if not 2) USHL years
Reid with 3 pts in 11 games; really don't see how you bring him to campus unless its as a non-scholarship scratch to take Harris' place
Katz with 9 pts in 11 games so a good start in Green Bay
Nevers with 3 pts in 9 games; 4th line at best when if/when he comes in next year
B Cullen with 1 pt in 8 games in Fargo; would think he's one they have play USHL multiple years and maybe come in the same time as Wyatt
Jarvis with 2 pts in 10 games for a Tri City team that's scored 23 total goals (just for some context that this team really doesn't score at all)
Geiger with no pts at the NTDP so far, McArthur with 2 pts
Casey is 2-2 .925 Sv%, 2.03GAA, 1 SO so far in the W
Conboy and Wyatt Cullen haven't played yet this year
 

Overall that class for next year ain't gonna make this team minus Lamb/L Mitt/Thomas a contender. Major help needed.

If you want to keep going without titles, enjoy it. The players above plus the current roster will not bring a title next year. Period.
