It would be nice if the Matt Rhule to Penn State rumor circulated in the Nebby locker room this week...
Doubt it.I agree. I think anyone they hire is going to be a downgrade.
What about ‘the fixer’?Indiana Coach to PSU?
Coaches that have more big game losses than James Franklin in the last 100 years, none. That’s it, that’s the list. No one.
Doubt it.
Rhule winning 6-7 a year at NebraskaBased on what?
Paterno also had fairly cyclical ups and downs record wise… something Franklin has largely avoided. As I’ve posted in response to this before, Franklin’s record is pretty similar to Paterno’s in this regard.
And he'll build them up to be men! What about ‘the fixer’?
Why?Disagree.
UVa has $$ and the ACC is much easier to win than the B1G/SEC. Why should he leave?Tony Elliott is going to be a hot name if UVA takes advantage of the easy schedule ahead of them.
Penn St. showing they don't care about $49m .... UVA got that kinda money?UVa has $$ and the ACC is much easier to win than the B1G/SEC. Why should he leave?
Forgive me if it’s been posted, what is Franklin’s coaching history? Is he a D or O guy? I assume he’ll get picked up quick as a head guy, but curious what he’d do if he went in a coordinator role.
If the right folks care enough, yes.Penn St. showing they don't care about $49m .... UVA got that kinda money?
Plus I don’t have that pesky wife suppressing my career anymore.Well, to tell ya the truth I wasn’t all that interested in getting back into coaching but they asked and I knew then I was needed. -country jer.
The disaster that was the period from Mason -> Fleck scared Gopher fans straight. We know how bad it can get.Now that Franklin is gone, it is almost hard to believe that, of current head coaches, Fleck is the second longest tenured in the B1G (longest? - Ferentz of course)
2026 recruit but I agree. Doesn’t he want to play tight end though?Hoping Petersohn is one of them perhaps?
Take him as a TE or big receiver. Build the offense around him and Voss.2026 recruit but I agree. Doesn’t he want to play tight end though?
Let's bring back the two TE set.2026 recruit but I agree. Doesn’t he want to play tight end though?
Only without the child sex scandalAs I’ve posted in response to this before, Franklin’s record is pretty similar to Paterno’s in this regard.
And two QBs.Let's bring back the two TE set.
Quick peek at his bio shows mostly offensive coaching roles but I highly doubt he will end up going the position coach role. He won't have trouble finding a head coaching gig if he wants one....question will be if he wants one or if he would rather enjoy PSU's money while doing something else like TV or whatever.Forgive me if it’s been posted, what is Franklin’s coaching history? Agreed. Unless he is burnt out, Franklin seems like a HC kinda guy.Quick peek at his bio shows mostly offensive coaching roles but I highly doubt he will end up going the position coach role.
