I think his buyout is $56 mil...though they could probably find it.Penn State is on the clock…

All this and he still came here. That says a lot. Ark football has been sort of a dumpster fire for a good decade.
Is that confirmed? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.I think his buyout is $56 mil...though they could probably find it.
Some of my PSU folks say $56 Mil, other sources say $50 Mil. Whatever it is, it's a pretty penny. Is that confirmed? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
Firing a coach for one bad loss is probably not smart. And I'm not a huge Franklin fan. Some of my PSU folks say $56 Mil, other sources say $50 Mil. Whatever it is, it's a pretty penny.

James Franklin buyout, contract details if Penn State football fires coach
Here's what Penn State football owes James Franklin if the team decides to fire him without cause following the Nittany Lions' loss to UCLA:www.usatoday.com
It’s the sequence of how they lost the Oregon OT game with a bad play call, which would’ve put them in the drivers seat for a great playoff seed, then being absolute trash against a really bad (aside from Iamaleva) lame duck UCLA team.Firing a coach for one bad loss is probably not smart. And I'm not a huge Franklin fan.
Yeah I think it's just what they are now. They're not Michigan or OSU.Joe Paterno winning percentage after joining the B1G - 63.76%
James Franklin winning percentage in the B1G - 64.65%
He seems to keep losing coordinators to other schools or scapegoating them. Can only do that so long. I think he runs a good program but isn't a great X's and O's guy to get them to the championship level. It’s the sequence of how they lost the Oregon OT game with a bad play call, which would’ve put them in the drivers seat for a great playoff seed, then being absolute trash against a really bad (aside from Iamaleva) lame duck UCLA team.
I do think there’s evidence over 10+ years that Franklin hasn’t been able to get over that big game hump. So if they want 14 wins and a championship, they may have to “settle” for 10-12 wins. Their fans have to be a bit careful they don’t get into a Nebraska spiral but I don’t think it’s similar, as PSU is not switching conferences, they’re in a more dense recruiting area etc.
I'm curious to hear a hog fan's perspective on Arkansas passing on Drake Lindsey. How upset were a lot of fans? That's a fact
They are Georgia under Mark RichtYeah I think it's just what they are now. They're not Michigan or OSU.
Was Paterno 6-21 against top 20 teams? Paterno should have won the Natty the year Nebraska was voted 1. No playoff then. Paterno won a shit ton of big games. Franklin has lost a shit ton of big games.Joe Paterno winning percentage after joining the B1G - 63.76%

After 2000 Paterno also had 4 seasons there they won 5 games or fewer. Not to mention the scandal. Was Paterno 6-21 against top 20 teams? Paterno should have won the Natty the year Nebraska was voted 1. No playoff then. Paterno won a shit ton of big games. Franklin has lost a shit ton of big games.

In his defense, hard to have the passion of 40 year old, when you’re 58. Father Time is still undefeatedHe has some goodwill, but he's done for sure after the year...looks like he needs a reboot or retirement, lost the passion of " I'm a Man! I'm 40!"
Thank youWas Paterno 6-21 against top 20 teams? Paterno should have won the Natty the year Nebraska was voted 1. No playoff then. Paterno won a shit ton of big games. Franklin has lost a shit ton of big games.
Realistically speaking, this is not great news. Wasn’t it Pittman and his staff that passed on Drake?
And the world could end tomorrowNext Ark coach falling on his hands and knees and offering $$$ should strike fear in our hearts.
May loyalty (to the Gophers) win out
As opposed to controlling the uncontrollables...?And the world could end tomorrow
Some of you guys need toup some time and stop
Littleing it, for Pete’s Sake.
You can only control the controllables; the older I get, the smaller that list is.
50k view bro -As opposed to controlling the uncontrollables...?
That can’t be an easy place to coach at nowadays.Opening in Corvallis

Sources: Oregon State fires Bray after 0-7 start
Oregon State has fired coach Trent Bray after an 0-7 start, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel. It's the worst start to a season for the Beavers since 1991.www.espn.com
Would be ... I guess ... a matter of if he believes a program like Indiana can ever win a natty, in the current cabal of blue blood oligopoly that is college football.Going to be interesting if Indiana will be able to hold onto cignetti
Mark Cuban $$$$$$$Going to be interesting if Indiana will be able to hold onto cignetti
Cigs isn't going anywhere, Indiana can match anything PSU offers. He's also 64 and as of now states, IU is his last stop.Mark Cuban $$$$$$$
He's from the state of PA, has some roots thereCigs isn't going anywhere, Indiana can match anything PSU offers. He's also 64 and as of now states, IU is his last stop.
Absolutely that's why I said states. You never know, but if he were 10 years younger, I think he'd definitely bolt. He's from the state of PA, has some roots there
