Predict the Score Thread: Minnesota at Ohio State

Ohio State 28 Gophers 10

End of Brewster early Kill era I was in the group of fans that said 0 percent chance Gophers beat Ohio State.

I think Its unlikely Gophers win Saturday but Its not impossible. Maybe 5 or 10 percent chance we win.

tOSU 31
Beloved Gophs 16

Edit: Having looked at their season I would like to revise to 27-20 Ohio St. Also my gut tells me Darius is back Saturday. I feel like Drake is starting to get into enough of a groove to put points on the board and you know Fleck is going to play Tressel ball to protect the defense. There is going to be a couple shots and a trick play to get us into scoring position. In the end it won’t be enough but NBC will get a good game.
I feel this way too. I feel like we may score a little more than 16...if Taylor is healthy. Having him as a passing option would really open things up for Drake.

OSU 35
Our Gophers 24

But i am still not ruling out an upset. Things need to go our way a bit, but with the way Drake has been throwing it, we have a chance. Let's take the field and see what happens!

Not trying to come across as a jerk, but I do not see Minnesota scoring 24 points. We have given up 22 points combined in four games this season. Zero Red zone touchdowns, both scores were on 30+ yard passing TD's where OSU blew coverage Texas got one and OU got one. I have no doubt the Gophers will get on the board but 24 seems a stretch. Frankly this Defense is better than last years #1 Defense at all 3 levels.

3 50+ yd TD passes! lol

If DT is back, Fleck won’t take deep shots nearly as much. He’ll lean into DT so he can cover the spread and not lose by as much as we’re supposed to.
We didn't take many deep shots without DT last week.

I know some of you have a hard actually believing, it but the coaches and players are not going out there worried about covering the spread, they are trying to win the game.

Year nine of Fleckball and I expect the Gophers to be competitive unlike what we saw against a medicare Cal squad. Fleck has a lot to prove.

At best I can hope for the Gophers is to be in position going into the 4th quarter to get a W rather than being 30 points behind. But what I have seen thus far, I am skeptical.

Gophers 13- OSU 38

I checked this "new member" and the Dink-O-Meter 3000 reads:

Gophers 27
Buckeyes 21

3 picks and a fumble recovery on a kickoff lead to a Gopher win in spite of losing the yardage battle by 200 yards. LeMeke is the offensive hero with 2 TD. Where do we put the goalposts in Columbus?

Is there a river nearby...?

Without Darius, there's no doubt they don't reach 24. But I think with him, we do have a much better chance at 24. (Gotta carry a bit of optimism in there as well).Without him, we don't score more than 20. Your defense is very good at every level, I'll give you that. I think Drake will surprise a lot of Buckeye faithful though. A large chunk of throws he made, he gave the receiver a really good chance to catch it, placement-wise. He has a nice deep ball too. Will we surprise everyone with an upset? Highly unlikely. But i think the game will be closer than what a lot of people are expecting.
I read a report (can't remember the source) that Taylor may be ready to play so we'll see.
Good luck on Saturday regardless!

Apparently, the over/under for the first quarter of the Ohio State game is 9.5 points. A betting guru recommends taking the under! He points out that Ohio State has scored only three points in the first quarter so far this year; the Gophers have scored zero in the first quarter so far this year. It will be interesting to see how this game starts off. Both teams playing close to the vest?

Ohio State is giving up an average of 5.5 points per game so far this season. I’d love to see the Gophers score 24 points, but think that would require a TD (or two) from the defense and/or special teams. Even with a healthy DT, 24 seems like quite a stretch if coming solely from our offense. But hope springs eternal. Go Gophers!
